Stamping 411 Winter Memories

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to the Stamping 411 Saturday Sketch Challenge. As always Selene and Gretchen have come up with yet another fabulous sketch. I hope you will take the time to hop on over and play along.

Here is the sketch:

I’ve used the Winter Memories Set for this card and just love this set. It brought back so many childhood memories for me.

  • I stamped the skates in Soft suede and took my aqua painter without ink and just blended with water to give the skates a touch of color. I then added some green to the leaves and cherry cobbler for the berries. I then ran my image piece through the Big Shot with one of the framelits.
  • Then I took my new paper piercing mat and one of the templates to add the piercing all around the edges….so fun. To top that off I decided it needed a bit more color so I took my Cherry Cobbler and did some faux stitching in between the holes.
  • The Dsp is from the “Be of Good Cheer” Designer Series Pack and was cut to 2 x 4 1/4
  • Before I attached the DSP I added two strips of Cherry Cobble Polka Dot Ribbon that is Scalloped and flipped it over and used the solid side to make the scalloped edge. Kind of a cheater scalloped edges…so simple.
  • I then attached the Image piece with dimensionals and added a sentiment. So easy.

I hope you enjoyed your visit today…come back often and enjoy your day!!!

Watercolor Winter with Core’dinations

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to share this card I did for a recent swap using the new Core’dinations Card Stock. Oh how I love this paper!!! It’s amazing to me how you can make something so plain into something smashingly beautiful.

SAM_1385  \

Here is what I did:

  • I cut my base to 4 1/4 x 11 and scored at 5 1/2 in Cherry Cobbler
  • My next layer is done in Early Espresso and cit to 3 3/4 x 5
  • Crumb Cake would be the next mat cut to 3 5/8 x 4 7/8 and run through the Big Shot with the Stripes Embossing Folder
  • My next layer is done with the Core’dinations Card Stock and is cut to 3 x 3 1/2 and run through the Big Shot with the new Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder. Once embossed you then sand it with the Sanding Block and wipe clean with the Stampin’ Up! Dust buddy and the results are stunning!
  • My Double Bow is done using my Bow Maker (that my hubby makes and is available for purchase on my right side bar).  I did the bow with Crumb Cake Seam binding.
  • I sued the edgelit for the little touch of Cherry Cobbler to divide the colors and make it pop.
  • The image from Watercolor Winter was stamped in Early Espresso and colored with my aqua painter and Watercolor Wonder Crayons.
  • I then finished it off with a little paper piercing. The image was cut out using the Labels Collection Framelits and then pierced with the Paper Piercing Pack and the Stampin’ Pierce Mat along with the Piercing tool.

How easy they have made this for us to pierce so evenly with these templates. I’ve been having tons of fun with them.
