Stamping 411 Sketch #244~Elementary Elegance

Hi Everyone,

Ready for some fun this weekend? Why don’t you start off by visiting the Stamping 411 Blog for some fun and inspiration and play along. It will be fun.

Here is the sketch….

….and my interpretation…

The featured stamp set used is out of the Sale-a-Bration Catalog and is called Elementary Elegance, isn’t it a beautiful image? The card base is Basic Black cut to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded in half. The next layer is Cherry Cobbler cut to 4 x 5 1/2,  and the next is newsprint cut to 3 7/8 x 5 1/8. The Black Scallop Mat is done using the Scallop Die and then I stamped the image onto Very Vanilla with Black Stazon. What I love about this set is you don’t have to worry about stamping the sentiment straight. Just stamp it onto a scrap of Very Vanilla and punch out using your Curly Label Punch. If you hold it upside down you can always see where you are punching. Then just pop the sentiment in the middle of the image. I popped it up with Dimensionals. I then added a double bow in Black Satin with a key hanging from it and 4 Rhinestones to the corner. For the finishing touch I added a few black specks with the retired “Itty Bitty’ set. It’s one set I will never part with. I hope Stampin Up! brings something like it back. It’ just always adds a little to the cards.

Almost forgot…I did run the newsprint and Cherry Cobble once it was taped together through the Big Shot using the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder. Just to add a touch of Elegance to it.

Stamping 411 Sketch #243

Hi Everyone,
Are you ready for another sketch challenge from Stamping 411? I hope so. This is a great sketch and so fun to work with. Don’t forget to give it a try and upload your card to our gallery. It’s so much fun!!!!
Here is the sketch…

….and my interpretation.

I had tons of fun creating this card.
I started with a card base of Very Vanilla cut to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2. Followed with a mat of Soft Suede cut to 4 x 4 3/4 and the bottom is punched with the Scallop Edge Punch. My Designer Series Paper is from the Attic Boutique Pack and it’s cut to 3 7/8 x 4 5/8. I then added a strip of the darker DSp to the bottom. It’s cut to 4 x 1 and taped to the back of the Soft Suede Mat.
I tied a double loop bow with my Soft Suede Taffeta and attached to the back of the mat before taping to the Very Vanilla card front. The Oval is done with the Designer Frames Embossing Folder and then I cut it out just beyond the beading.
The Butterfly is from the Creative Elements Set and stamped ion Baja Breeze to coordinate with the DSP. Then I edged it with the Soft Suede Marker before stamping. Make sure to huff on it to get the full effect.
I added some pearls to the scallops to dress it up a bit.

How to ~Create A Faux Framelit Layer

Hi Everyone,
I’d like to share a little card with you that I made featuring a Faux Framelit Layer. So many of you have asked how I managed to get the narrow border on a few of my cards using the Labels Collection Framelit….well here’s how.
Here is my card….stamped with a little cup from the Tea Shoppe Stamp Set and how I made the Framelit Layer....

Notice the slim layer of framelit behind the image piece? Here’s how…
I cut two pieces of Black Cardstock to make the matted piece. Did you know you can cut two at a time with these framelits? You can, how cool is that?
You’ll need 1 image piece and two of the same size for the mat. Cut one mat in half horizontally and the other vertically.
  Apply Mono Adhesive to the back of the image piece.
Take one of the half's (in this case the longer one) and lay the image piece on top leaving the amount of mat visible that you want.
Do the same with the opposite side.
It should look like this…
Turn over and apply more Mono Adhesive to the back.
Attach the other two pieces onto the back.
  Here is the finished piece. I just have to add dimensionals to the back to pop up my image.

Stampin’ for the Community Connection

Hi Everyone,

It’s been such a busy time….

As you know I do an event every other month for charity here in the Jacksonville, Fl area. It’s so much fun but tons of work! I couldn’t do it alone for sure. This time I had 7 of my Girls (downline) helping me. Together we make this happen and raise $$ for the Charity. I’d like to share a few pictures of this as it means so much to me.

Looks like Donna (plaid shirt) and myself right rear in gray and apron are busy at the Big Shot machines showing our guests how to use the new Framelits and Edgelits. They loved them!

Our lunch was done by Sweet Tomatoes. We had tons of food and it was so good! See the guy on the right….that’s my Hubby. He is such a huge help at these events!! He picked all the food up and helped Kari serve it.

Look at those cakes and Stampin’ Up Sweet Pressed Shortbread Cookies. Yum!!!

Speaking of Happy….here is sweet Pat and myself. Pat was the Big Winner!! She won a huge box of Stampin’ Up! product. She just kept saying I can’t believe it…I can’t believe it….I can’t believe it!! I was so happy for her.

A little Birdie told me she spent the day after organizing all of her new things in her stamp room. She still saying I can’t believe it!!!

Our next Event will be for the Special Olympics and will be on April 14th. If you live in the Jacksonville area and would like to come just contact me for more details.

Stamping 411 Sketch #242 Party This Way!

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to my blog and another fun week of sketches from Stamping 411.

Here is today's sketch…how fun is this???

 

…and my interpretation.

I decided to do something a bit different for me. Okay so it’s still white but look at all that color!!! We’ve got Lucky Limeade, Calypso Coral and Wisteria Wonder!! Hole Moly can you stand it?

The card base is 4 1/4 x 11 and folded in half. The Wisteria Wonder Mat is cut to 4 x 5 1/4. The next mat is white and run through The Big Shot with the Stripes Embossing Folder…that’s the right side and it measures 2 x 4 3/4. The side with the words on it is cut to 2 1/2 x 4 3/4 and stamped randomly with the Happy Birthday Stamp from “Party this Way”. It’s one of the free sets for Sale-a-Bration.

I then stamped the balloons with all three colors and punched out with my 1 1/4” Square Punch and matted onto colored card stock of the same color punched with the Scalloped Square Punch. I added a bit of Wisteria Wonder Ruffled Ribbon to divide the two sides. 

My Party this Way arrow is colored with Markers and stamped on white and cut out. I then mounted it on Wisteria Wonder and cut again. It’s popped up with dimensionals.

Simply Soft & Spring Fever Meet & Give-a-way!

I’d like to share a few things today. First a card I did using the image from the Simply Soft Hostess Stamp Set. I love, love, love this stamp set!

I paired it with the DSP from the Spring Favor Simply Scrappin? Kit. That DSP is gorgeous!! Don’t  you think?

 

I just love the springtime feel to it. It’s so crisp and clean and sweet!

I stamped the image onto an oval cut with the Ovals die and colored it in with my markers. I dotted the area around the oval to freshen it up and make it pop. I think it adds to the sweetness of it too. The bow is done using the Pear Pizzazz Seam Binging and my Bow Maker (available for purchase on my right side bar). This makes bow making a breeze!!!

Stamping 411 Sketch Challenge # 241 Sprinkled Expressions

Hi Everyopne,
Ready for some more Stamping fun with the Stamping 411 Operators? Here we go.

This is the fun sketch…..
….and my interpretation. I really had fun with this one.

Card Base is Whisper White cut to 4 1/4 x 11( no surprise, huh) and the next layer is 4 x 5 1/4. I used a strip of the fun new DSP called Sweet Shop….look at those raided Polka Dots. Love it. That piece is cut to 1 1/2 x 4. The mats are done in Wisteria Wonder (Love it) and cut to 2 x3 (2 of them) and followed by two whisper white pieces that are cut to 1 7/8 x 2 7/8. One is run through the Big Shot with the Polka Dot Embossing Folder and the other is the image piece and it’s stamped with the Sprinkled Expressions Image in Wisteria Wonder. Added the sentiment from the same set, a few Rhinestones and a double bow to create this cute-cute card. Well at least I think it’s cute.

Special Valentine and Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner (or did)?

Hi Everyone,

I just had to share a few pictures with you today. One is of a darling card I got at Leadership from my dear friend Midge. Unfortunately Midge did not attend this year but her daughter Julie brought this Special Valentine to me. I was so excited to receive it. How cute is this???? Midge always does the cutest cards!!! Love it and you Midge.

At Leadership Conference I had a special dinner date with Pam Morgan and my some of my girls that attended Leadership…check it out.

From left to right: Myself, Pam, Susan, Kanaka, Christina, Lisa and Janet. We had such a good time! It’s so wonderful to work (can we call this work?) with a company that is so warm and personal. Pam is the VP of Employee and Demonstrator Development at Stampin’ Up! and just a delight. I first met her on the Alaskan Cruise last year when my Husband and I were invited to her table for dinner one night. How fun.

These are just some of the “Good Times” we have with Stampin’ Up! Gatherings….they are the best!
