Stamping 411 Sketch 201~Beyond the Garden

Hi Everyone,

I can’t wait to share a little Sneak Peak of what’s to come with some of the fabulous Designer Series Paper as a focal point on my challenge card this week.

sketch 201 006

This was a very fun sketch to work with. I just knew I wanted to cut into one of the sheets of the new DSP called Beyond the Garden coming up in the new Summer Mini. The card Base is Melon Mambo and cut at 4 1/4 x 11 and followed with a mat of Wild Wasabi cut to 4 x 5 1/4. The Beyond the Garden is cut to 3 7/8 x 5 1/8 followed by a Wild Wasabi Mat 2 1/8 x 3 1/8 and a Whisper White Embossed piece that is 2 x 3. the Happy Mother’s Day is stamped in Melon Mambo on Whisper White 1 x 2 7/8 using the Stamp from the All Holidays Stamp Set. It is attached to a Wild Wasabi Mat cut to 1 1/8 x 3. I added 3 Rhinestones to add a bit of Sparkle to the card. The flower is actually one of the flowers cut from the DSP and colored in with a Aqua Painter and Melon Mambo re-inker. I then attached it with Dimensionals. The bow is done with my bow maker and I did a double loop bow to top it off.

This card to little to no time and was great fun to make. I think this DSP rather speaks for itself don’t you?

I hope that you will find the time to play along this week over at the Stamping 411 Blog.

Thanks for stopping in.

Now onto the winner of the Blog Candy……the Winner is…..

“I am thinking this card has definite touches of Connie - the little way she does her distressing and it looks great with this embossing folder from the new mini :)”

Well you’re wrong Nancy but you still win the Blog Candy….please contact me with your info and I’ll get it off to you.

Thanks everyone for playing…it was fun! We’ll have to do this again.

Roses For a Friend

Hi Everyone,

I want to share these little Roses I made for a very Special Friend. I hope she likes them.

Roses for a Special Friend 002

I’ve done the background using the Stripe Stamp from Stampin’ Up! and stamped once in Melon Mambo and across with Old Olive to make a checked pattern of sorts. I then layered that onto some Old Olive and assembled. The roses were done on Pretty In Pink and done with my Circle Punches and pearls added to the center. I did sponge the edges with the Melon Mambo to enhance the petals. The little leaves sizzlet was used to cut the leaves. Then I added the pearls to the punched piece and added a double bow using my bow maker (available on my right sidebar) or here

Thanks for stopping in….see you soon.

sketch-200-number-11

This card showcases the Flower Garden Embossing Folder….isn’t it gorgeous??? Looks like it’s got a little color added to the embossed lines. Then we have the new Fabulous Florets set used for the flowers with Rhinestone Centers. They  are just beautiful done in Cherry Cobbler and and Pumpkin Pie…..I believe the New Simply Scrappin’ Kit that will be in the new mini is what the DSP is from. It’s called Playful Polka Dots. Fun isn’t it? Then it’s topped off with some Cherry Cobble Seam Binding. Wow!!! Love this card. Who’s do you think it belongs to? I have a bit of an idea…..we’ll have to see if I’m right.

In the meantime we’re all offering up some blog candy so make sure to leave a comment and take a guess as to who this card belongs to. That’s all you have to do to win.

image

Now on to today’s card.

It’s done with the Pant Hope Stamp Set …hope you like it.

Plant Hope 004

I inked up the stamp with Markers….Soft Suede, Baja Breeze, Old Olive and Always Artichoke. I also went over the pot with my versamarker and added some clear EP (not evident in this photo, but very cool). The Background is done with a Texturz Plate and I Brayered on some Soft Suede to give some Bark like Texture. My Bow is a Triple done our fabulous Seam Binding using my bow maker available on my right sidebar.image

……and I added the pearls for good measure. Not sure they go but kind of like the rough and pretty together. What do you think.

A Special Card for a Special Couple

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to share a Special card I made today for a very Special Couple.

This is the card I will send to Jennifer and Paul for they’re wedding. They have been on quite a journey together with him being deployed a few times. They have been so strong and they are so in love. I wish them all the best and only wish I could be there for they’re wedding.

Here is the card I will be sending. Can I just say I know this couple is for “Always”!!! They are truly a match made in Heaven!

Wedding Card 005

My Card is done in Whisper White and enhanced with a bit of Sahara Sand after running the mat through the Big Shot using the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder. I also used the Fun Flowers Die to make my beautiful Flower and sponged the edges with Sahara Sand as well. White Satin Ribbon for the double bow using my Bow Maker and the sentiment from the Always  Elegant Stamp Set. The leaves were done on Certainly Celery and sponged with the same color. I punched first using the large oval punch.  It’s a wedding I had to use pearls…so I added a small one to the sentiment and a few on the button. Finally I added more to the center of the ribbon.

Hope you like and hope they like it too.

Happy Wedding Day Jennifer and Paul!!

Stamping 411 ~ Every Moment

Hi Everyone, Boy it’s been a busy time lately. I seem to be meeting myself coming around the corner!

It’s time for another sketch challenge from Stamping 411 I hope you will play along.

Sketch 199

SSC199

….and my take on it.

Sketch 199 and rose tutorial pictures 016

The weather has been so warm here in Florida that I had to make a Spring/Summer Card. I am showcasing the Every Moment Stamp Set. One of my favorites. I thought it should sizzle so I used Tangerine Tango as the contrasting color for my card stock.

I colored the image with my Watercolor Pencils and blended using my Watercolor Pencils. I love that technique. It’s just the best!! …and that verse….is that just not the truth?

The measurements for the card are:

Whisper White Base: 5 1/2 x 81/2

Tangerine Tango 4 x 5 1/4

White Embossed Dotted mat 3 7/8 x 5 1/8

Circles done with my Circle Scissors are 3” and 3 1/4” 9I opted to go round)

I used a scrap for the sentiment and butterfly.

The Ribbon is done with White Taffeta and I did a double bow attaching with a glue dot.

I hope you like it. I also hope you will play along this week. this was a fun sketch for me.

Have a fabulous weekend!!!

Stamping 411 Sketch 198~Easter Beauty

Hello!!!

Welcome to another Sketch Challenge from Stamping 411 Hope you’ll take the time to play along.

SSC198

This one if fun and simple and I wondered what I could do with the background…….hmmmmmmmmm

Then it dawned on me…bright and crisp and summery…..just how it feels in Florida lately.

Sketch 197-198 and Elizabeth 002 I am showcasing the Easter Beauty Stamp Set and decided to keep with the simplicity of the sketch. So Daffodil Delight and Black and White were my choices. (I now the white surprises you…hehe)

The card base is cut to 4 1/4 by 11 and folded in half.

Th Daffodil Delight Mat is 3 x 4 1/2 and then punched with the scallop punch and added the black marker dots. The Black mat measures 2 7/8 x 3 7/8 and the white image piece is 2 3/4 x 3 1/2 . On the main card I just stamped the big images in Daffodil and Black just randomly. I could have done the whole card but kind of liked sticking to the sketch design. The main image is masked underneath but then I decided to add a topper to the middle flower so stamped again and cut out and popped it up. I added some Dazzling Diamonds with my 2-way glue and called it a day. Well not before I did my knotted ribbon and Button treatment. The stems were hand drawn as were the leaves and colored with Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive Markers. Enjoy!!

Do hope you will play along.

Stamping 411 Sketch 197~Blue China

Hey Everyone,

Are you ready for some fun???? Then hop on over to the Stamping 411 site and play along with us this week. It’s an awesome sketch.

SSC197

…and my interpretation……

Sketch 197-198 and Elizabeth 006

How fun is this. Reminds me of Delft China? I can’t remember where but have seen these fans done lately (if you are the originator please let me know and I will give you credit) and wanted to give it a whirl. I saw this sketch and knew it would be perfect.

You take a piece of dsp cut to 1 1/4 x 6 and score every 1/4 inch and fold like a fan. Don’t forget to add your Chantilly lace.

My card base is Very Vanilla and cut to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and the mat is 4 x 5 1/4 and run through the Big Shot using the Square Lattice Embossing Folder. To that I attached a piece of Baja Breeze that measure 2 1/4 x 4 1/4 and stamped with the image from Dream Gardens in Versamark I then punched the bottom using the scallop trim Border Punch. I attached that and the ribbon to the piece with dimensionals.

Attach the fan with Crystal Effects and stamped my Tea Pot Image onto Vanilla by stamping in Versamark first and then Baja Breeze onto cardstock. Poured Clear Embossing Powder over it and heat set for the shiny look. I then used my 1 3/4 circle punch and popped it up on dimesionals. It still needed something so I took a few of those pearls that came in lines and carried it around the circle.

That’s it. Hope you will play along this week.

Have a good one!!!
