Selene Purse~Oh so Cute!

Hi Everyone,

I’ve got a special share for you today. It’s this little purse that I made with a template that my friend Selene Kempton designed. She has tons of these little purses on her blog and she is selling the template!!! All I had to do was run it through my printer, cut and score and Voila’. So easy, you will have to check it out.

   Selene's purse 009

This came together so nicely in just minutes and then all I did was cut a panel of dsp and matted it. The black flap I just traced from the flap of the template to give contrast with the black. Used some of the pearls to embellish and used this tiny little rose I made last week to finish it off. By the way when Selene was here this past Thanksgiving she taught me how to do these Roses. Isn’t it cute? I just love how delicate it is.

Selene's purse 009

So this is a total “Selene” Inspired Bag!!

I hope you like it and will visit her blog to check it out and get a template for yourself….I can think of tons of uses for this little gem.

Now I can’t wait for her to design more templates as it’s certainly going to make my life a bit easier for my special 3D Classes. Thanks Selene!!!

Button~Button….Who’s Got the Buttons?

Hi Everyone,

Stampin’ Up! had got the Button’s!!!

This set it called Button-Button and I have not had the opportunity to play with it yet. So I pulled it out and this is what I came up with. Button Button 002

I don’t know if you can tell (as it’s kind of dark and dreary here…..I’m not complaining as we need the rain but it’s not conducive for good picture taking) bu tthe buttons are all embossed with clear embossing powder. They are kind of cool actually. I used all IN-Colors too. Pear Pizazz, Poppy Parade and Peach Parfait. It’s really brighter in person but I just don’t have lots of light going on here.  I added some little rhinestones to the buttons and love that they all go different directions. That was not planned but I’m glad it worked out that way. I also used the Poppy Parade Ribbon and tied a double bow with my Magic Bow Maker. For those of you that own one you just wrap twice before starting the tying process. It’s that easy.

More info about the Bow Maker on my right side bar.

Don’t forget it the last day to order for Sale-a-Bration too. Got any last minute things you want? Check your list and get them now while you can still get some freebies.

You can order anytime at my Stampin’ Up! Store here

Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you back soon.

Stamping 411 Sketch 196

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to another Sketch Challenge at Stamping 411

Here is the fun sketch…..

SSC196

…and my Spring Time Interpretation……

Sketch 196 006

I am showcasing a little set called Pocket Silhouettes. I’ve inked up the images with my Pear Pizzazz. Pretty in Pink and Regal Rose Markers and stamped. The Happy Easter Saying is from the Easter Blossoms Set from the Mini.

The base of the card is 4 1/4 x 11 and folded in half. The second layer is partially run through the Big Shot on either end with the Polka Dot Embossing Folder leaving room for the Sentiment. I used Pretty in Pink Satin Ribbon (love that stuff) and then mounted my image piece 2 1/4 x 4 1/4 onto a scrap of Pretty in Pink that’s 2 3/8 x 4 1/4.  That’s it! Easy Peasy! I hope you enjoyed it and will find some time to play along. Have a great weekend.

Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge~Friends 24/7

Hi Everyone,

Today I have tons to do but wanted to play if for just a little while. Sometimes you just gotta play, ya know?

I thought I would start my Monday out with the Mojo Monday Challenge. It looked interesting. Take a peek…

….and here is my attempt at it.

Mojo Monday Freinds 24 7 002

I used some of our new (yet to be released) DSP called Paisley Petals. I’m so in love with this paper. It looks very muted here because of the colors I’ve chosen. I like that you can brighten it up or down…..when paired with Sahara Sand it really does give off those gray/taupe tones. See the little strip at the bottom. I tried to make my own piece of matching dsp by mixing a bit of Always Artichoke re-inker and some water….brused it onto very vanilla and gave it a wash. Then stamped with Sahara Sand and washed again. Still not right I tried a little Pear Pizzazz and it’s better but not quite there…I’ll keep trying. Then I decided to crimp it to age it a bit and straighten it out. So there ya go….my happenings here this morning. Exciting, huh??? Well it was for me…hehe!!!

My bow of course is make using my bow maker and ladies that have written you just wrap the ribbon around one more time before you start the tying procedure on the bow maker….it’s that easy and three times for a triple.  You too can do this.

If you would like to purchase a bow maker just click on this picture and it will take you right there, or just look on my right side bar.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a great week.

Stamping 411 Sketch 195

Hi Everyone,

Another week gone by…can you believe it. It’s already time for another Sketch Challenge. Make sure to hop on over to Stamping 411 and play along. This was a really fun sketch and I can’t wait to see what y’all came up with!!

Here is the sketch:

SSC195

….and her is my take on it.

Sketch 195 002  I had the pleasure of combining tow sets here…..the wonderful Sale-a-Bration Bliss Set and Happiness Shared Set.

The base of my card is cut to 4 1/4 x 11 and folded in half. the Mat is 4 x 5 1/4 and run through the Big Shot with the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder and popped up with dimensionals. The ribbon was taped to the back of this mat.

The bliss mat is Old Olive and measure 2 1/4 x 2 1/4 and the Vanilla Image piece is 2 1/8 x 2 1/8. The dotted mat is actually a scarp of Christmas DSP I had sitting around and cut to 2 3/8 3 5/8 and the image piece us 2 1/2 x 3 1/2. I did the same image three times by inking up my stamp with my Rose Red Marker and Old Olive Marker. I had to extend the stems and hand draw a few leaves. For the flower image I just took my aqua painter and did a water wash to drag some color and it turned just the right contrast of pink by drawing from the edges. I stamped three leaves and the Butterfly and cut them out to resemble the sketch. Those of you that know me KNOW I don’t add a lot of saying to card….that way they are ready to go for whatever occasion I may need them. hence the Butterfly…..which I by the way colored with my Rose Red Marker and edged with Old Olive, huffed, Stamped and cut out. It’s attached with a glue dot. the bow is done the rose Red Seam Binding and I added a few pearls to the flourish. That’s it. Hope you enjoy it and will play along with us this weekend. Thanks for stopping in.

Fast And Fabulous Masking Tutorial and Chance to WIN!!!!

Hi Everyone,

It’s been so long since I’ve done this technique I thought I’d do a Tutorial on it. It’s called “Masking”. See Tutorial below…..

how to mask 028

You will need a couple of line images, post it note, paper snips and ink.

how to mask 001

Stamp the images on the post it note at the top so you keep some of the sticky part.

how to mask 003

You may want to to a couple of images…..

how to mask 004

Cut the images out just inside the black stamp line. You want it to be a smidgen smaller than the image itself so just inside the black line works really well.

how to mask 005

For this card I used three masks….2 smaller ones and 1 larger one.

how to mask 006

I stamped two flowers with Black Stazon onto White Card Stock. these images will be in the forefront of the bouquet. so select which image you want to be whole.

how to mask 007

I then placed the two masks over the petals of the images to mask it.

how to mask 008

I then took the larger image and stamped over the masks

how to mask 009

I decided I wanted more flowers in my bouquet and added the third mask to stamp a few more images.

how to mask 011

Because the smaller image had a stem on it I just tore a piece of post it note and placed it to protect the area I would be stamping.

how to mask 012

I then stamped the smaller image three times each time moving the scrap piece of post it note to protect the area where the stem would have appeared.

how to mask 013

Remove the masks and here you have the images in front and some of the flowers in back.

how to mask 014

I drew in some stems and leaves with my black marker

how to mask 015

I decided to make this a Bright and Spring like Bouquet. So I used the Watercolor Pencils and began outline the images. I find this works really well for me.

how to mask 016

Use your Blended Pen to distribute the color. I work from the outer edge in, in a circular motion and leave a few areal lighter to add another color.

how to mask 017

Here I’ve bended and added some yellow and orange to give the flowers a more natural look.

how to mask 026

….and here we have it!!! My Spring Flower Bouquet!!! See where I added the green stems and leaves which I drew in? You can also see better the colors I mixed together.

how to mask 028

Supplies used:

Stamp Set: Fast and Fabulous Hostess Set

Card Stock: Whisper White , Daffodil Delight

DSP: Yellow Stripe from the Brights Pattern Pack

Ribbon: Daffodil Delight Satin

Watercolor Pencils, Blender Pen and Dimensionals.

Thanks for stopping in and I hope you enjoyed my little “Masking Tutorial”!

If I can help you with any of your stamping needs don’t hesitate to let me know. All Products used can be purchased on my website if you’d like…..and you know I’d certainly appreciate it.

In fact I will have a drawing for a FREE FAST and FABULOUS Level 2 Hostess Set. To qualify you must place a $50 merchandise order at my online store by Friday, March 18th  at 5PM. Also leave me a comment if you will…. with your email address so that I can notify you.

One Little Stamp….Great Little Background!

Hi Everyone,

Just a quick post for today. I had a class here yesterday (actually two). Last night;s call was so fun. Got to see some girls that I haven't seen in awhile, which is always fun. Anyway one of them has been commissioned to make some cards for someone and she said they had to be classy and not too fru-fru and sort of Cosmopolitan. Well all these supplies were already out there on my Lanai for my class and I came up with this card for her. So easy to be reproduced especially having to make 40!!! She was thrilled and so was I. I had to make one for me too.

Artistic Etchings...notecard 002

Materials used are the Tasteful Trims Die #120893…$42.95, Lovely Letters Stamp Set# 115030…$43.95, 1 3/8 Circle Punch #119860…$15.95, Scallop Circle Punch #119854 $16.95 and Pearls #119247 …$4.95. I used the one little Stamp from Artistic Etchings#120573..$14.95 for the clear set and Black Stazon #101406…$7.95. I just stamped the image randomly and used it as my background and love it! I hope you do too.

If you do not have a Demo and I can help you with any of your stamping needs just let me know. I’d love it and will get a Mini Catalog out to you. You can also shop online at my Stampin’ Up! Store 24/7 if you’d like.

Thanks for stopping in. Make sure to come back tomorrow to see my Tutorial on Masking and a Special Offer.

Stamping 411 Sketch 194

Hi Everyone!

Welcome to another Saturday Sketch Challenge from Stamping 411

Here is the sketch:

SSC194

…and my sweet little interpretation. I really love this little “Sweet Summer” Set. I’ve found it to be so versatile. I’ve been itching to use Garden Green. Not sure why as it’s one of my least favorite colors….but I wanted to. Well I kind of like it now. I’m trying to use more color in my cards……and Garden Green pairs beautifully with Pink Pirouette.

 Sweet Summer 004

Card is pretty straight forward Card base is cut to 4 1/4 x 11 and folded in half Pink Layer is 4 x 5 1/4. I used scraps to stmp the images on and punch out with my 1 1/4 “ circle punch and then the green circle is punched with the 1 3/8 punch.

I cut two little butterfly's out and added a bee for good measure. Topped it off with a double bow of white taffeta and a scrap of Garden Green in my Scallop Edge Punch.

That’s it for today. Hope you’ll take a little time for you and join us over at the Stamping 411 sketch challenge this week.

Thanks for stopping in.

four frames and metal class 002

I used the Four Frames Stamp Set, The New DSP “Paisley Petals” and the Decorative Label Punch and the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border. Notice the variation in color on the border? I did a color wash on Very Vanilla after I punched the border using my Aqua Painter and my Watercolor Wonder Crayons. In this case if you can believe I used a light wash of Cajun Craze and it matched Perfectly. My Bow is done with the Vanilla Seam Binding….my very favorite Ribbon as it makes for some beautiful bows. So I hope you like it.

Now for my Blog Candy Winner!!!

Congratulations to Mary Campbell who said……

Nature Walk and Blog Candy Time!!!

Hi Everyone!

What a special day it is today!! While I wasn’t looking, as I’ve been busy with other things my blog counter went over 300,000 hits!! That is cause for a Celebration I’d say. What do ya’ll think? Think we need some Blog Candy??? I think we do!!

First let me tell you about my card here. I am showcasing the Nature Walk Set from the Mini Catalog (one of my favorites) and tried a bit of faux linen here but then decided to Emboss with the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing folder. I am lovin’ this look! How about you?

Nature Walk in Early Espresso 006What I did was take a piece of Glossy Cardstock and took my Sanding block and drug it one way across the Glossy finish. Then the other way. Wiped off the dust and proceeded to add some Baja Breeze and Early Espresso. Yummy together!!

Anyway this is the result of me laying around with a bit of color and then dry embossing it. I added some Antique Brads and some Seam Binding Ribbon and there you have it. Like the shredding of the Seam Binding? So delicate looking. Hope you like it.

If I can help you with any of your stamping needs don’t hesitate to contact me at the top right of my blog. I’ll be more than happy to help. You can also shop at my online store too if you’d like. We’re having a Sale-a-Bration there too. You might not want to miss it.

Now back to the Blog Candy. I think you know where I’m going with this, right? Seam Binding, Bow maker….you got it. How about a roll of Seam Binding and a Magic Bow Maker?!? Sound good? Just leave me a comment telling me why you would like to win. I will announce a winner on Friday afternoon at 12 noon EST.

Good Luck Everyone and thanks so much for your continued support. Love you guys!!!

Sweet~ Sweet Summer is Here!

My Hubby and I went out for a nice lunch as he wasn’t here for my Birthday and we’ll go to dinner tonight. He insists!! Twist my arm!!!

So anyway, because it’s so beautiful outside I wanted to do something Spring/Summer for you today. So I’m offering up some bright sun shiney color for you….Daffodil Delight. I love this yellow…it’ just makes me happy and I hope it does you too!

Sweet Summer 005

Notice the white and yellow polka dot ribbon? Well I always think of polka dots when it’s warm too so I dotted this white Taffeta Ribbon with the end of an pencil eraser (new so it’s flat) and just used it as my stamp to dot the ribbon. Cool huh?

I then of course tied a double bow with my Magic Bow Maker (available on my right side bar) and ta-da!! Instant Cute!!! The Stamp Set used is Sweet Summer free with any $50 or more purchase and the Birthday Wishes stamp came from a Hostess Set called Occasional Quotes. Very fun set.

Stamping 411 Sketch 193 A Little Bit of Paradise

Hi Everyone,

Time to play with the Operators again.  My Goodness where does time go?

I’ve been so busy this week with meetings and prepping for classes and Birthday Celebration that I was a bit behind in creating this card. I love square cards and thought I would do something entirely different but changed it up last minute as the last one was not what I envisioned. I guess we all have days like that huh?

Now onto some stamping.

Here is the sketch:

ssc193a-001

….and my interpretation

sketch 193 002

This card was pretty straight forward. I am showcasing the Paradise Stamp set and used Pear Pazzazz Very Vanilla and Basic Black.

The Card base measure 5 1/4 x 10 1/2 folder in half

Black Mat is 4 7/8 square

Vanilla Stamped Mat using the leaf from Paradise in Pear Pazzazz is 4 3/4 square.

The Black mat for the image piece is 3 1/4 square and the Pear Pazzazz is 3 1/8 square. The image piece is 3 x 3 stamped in Black Stazon using the All Holidays Stamp Set. I love this saying .

I cut a strip of black cardstock that goes horizontally across the card and added a Vintage Brad that I colored with a black sharpie.

Then I stamped two more leaves and cut them out and attached one to the front of the card and the other to the inside to finish it off.

Like I said this is a pretty straight forward card…..sometimes less is more!!! I did do some dots around the edges with my black marker too.

Hope you enjoy it and I hope you will play along with us over at Stamping 411 !!!

I got the sheets from Monica over at Add a Little Dazzle. She has got some lovely things over there. Be patient though…she just had a baby just a day or two ago. Congratulations Monica!!!

Anyway I’ve used some of the metal to cover a Post-it Note pad and run it through the Big Shot using the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder by Stampin’ Up!. I will be having a class with this at the end of the month.

I really love this and will carry it in my purse for sure along with the matching pen. Can you see the bling on the front of it. Too Cool!

Birthday-Birthday’s Everywhere!

This is such a BIG month for Birthday’s for me (including mine) that I want you to celebrate with me. So my Friend Sandi MacIver’s Birthday is tomorrow and mine is Thursday, along with my little friend Gina and then we have my grandson and several other March Birthdays….so I will be busy.

Birthday Card 018

I have featured two stamp sets here. Slice of Life, which is a Level 1 Hostess Set ( I love this set) and also Curly Cute for the background. I just stamped randomly the Happy Birthday to make my own Background Paper.

Notice the Melon Mambo Ribbon? Well we don’s sell that ….so I made my own by coloring white taffeta with my Melon Mambo Marker. Have to match you know!!! Then of course I used my Magic Bow Maker (available for purchase on the right sidebar).

image

Order a Magic Bow Maker this week and I will throw in a Natural Color Card Stand to help you celebrate my March Birthdays. (Card Stands no longer available in black…..natural only.) This offer is only good until Friday!

I hope you all have a great week and look forward to seeing you back soon.
