Stained Glass Technique Class Card

Hi Everyone,

I’m having a Technique Class today and here is one of the cards we will be creating.

I used the Butterfly from Nature Walk and created this Stained Glass Effect on this card. I will bring you one more tomorrow with the same technique. I’ve used Whisper White for the Card Base and to help show off the Delicate Butterfly done in greens and blues.

Stained Glass Technique 002

The Wavy strip across the front is from the Tasteful Trims Die (love it!) and added some bling with our rhinestones to set it off.

Here are a few close ups of the Butterfly. Isn’t it pretty?

Stained Glass Technique 002Stained Glass Technique 001

Well I hope my class enjoys this technique…..I know I did.

Contact me if you are interested in classes or booking a workshop to learn some of these fun techniques.

I will be doing a Tutorial on this real soon. I hope you’ll stay tuned.

Aviary for Sara~Workshop in a Box

Hi Everyone,

My friend Sara is having a workshop in a box for me in February and this is one of the cards I sent her for her workshop. She wanted BRIGHT and I think I delivered. hehe

Aviary for Sara 002

This card is a 5 1/4” square and I matted the Designer Strips of Dotted Paper from the Brights Pack on Black. I then cut a Square Scallop with Daffodil Delight and matted again in black and the image of course is on white. This set is so fun and easy to work with and I know Sara will have fun doing this at her workshop.

If you would like to do a “Workshop in a Box” just contact me at the top right of my blog and tell me when……it’s easy, it’s fun and no hassle. Just invite a few friends over to stamp and I’ll do the rest. Call or email me and we’ll chat about it. I’d love it!

…..and the best part is that it’s Sale-a-Bration and you get extra free Stampin’ Stuff just for Hostessing a $300 workshop in addition to you regular Hostess Benefits. Now that’s fabulous!!!! Don’t have a Sale-a-Bration Brochure or Occasions Mini…just email me and I’ll get one to you. Thanks for stopping in!!

Stamping 411 Sketch 188

Hi Everyone,

Time for another Stamping 411 Sketch Challenge. I’m not sure where this week went but it’s gone.

I hope you will play along this week….it was fun coming up with something for this sketch. It took a little more thinking for me than usual. I hope you like it.

Here is the sketch:

SSC188

…and my card…..

Sketch 188 010  I used the Nature Walk Set for this card. I started by using a Black Foldover that I had sitting on my desk. It’s 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 (I’ll worry about the inside when I need it) . I then took a piece of First Edition DSP and attached it to a piece of Vanilla Card Stock to give it some body. It’s 3 1/4 x 5 1/2. I then ran it through the Big Shot with the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder and sponged it a bit. I added the Square Rhinestone Fire Brads using my paper piercer to poke the holes.

Then the image….I decided the Bird would fit just fine and stamped him in Black Stazon onto a piece of Watercolor Paper 2 x 3 1/4 and water colored it with my pencils, crayons and Aqua Painter. It still needed something so I got out my Ribbon Punch and made a scallop edge on the bottom with Riding Hood Red and one on the top but left it paling. The width is 5 1/2 “ on those.

Still needed a bit of something so I got out my scallop  Oval punch and my large oval and used the no. 147 on it to complete it. I did a little sponging and assembled.

I hope you like it and take a bit of time for yourself this week and play along.

Have a great weekend.

Stamping 411 Sketch 187

Hi Everyone,

Back form Leadership and ready to get back into the swing of things…..starting with my Stamping 411 Card.

Here is the sketch:

SSC187

…and the cute little card I came up with.

The drinks look yummy don’t they? Cool fun and refreshing.

This stamp is in our Cheers to You Set and makes card making so simple …I’ve always enjoyed this set.

\Sketch 187 002  The card Base is White and is cut to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded in half. The dotted mat is run through the Big Shot with the embossing Folder and popped up with Dimensionals It measures 4 x 5 1/4 . The Pear Pizazz mat is 2 1/4 x 4 1/4, the Melon Mambo Mat is 2 1/8 x 4 1/4 and the image piece is 2 x 4.

I stamped the glasses on with Black Stazon and colored with my Watercolor Pencils and Blender Pen. Love the ease of coloring like that. Just run a line of color around the inside line of the image and pull in with your Blender Pen in a Circular motion. It’s so fun! You can add a bit more color in some areas for shading.

I topped it off with the fabulous Pear Pizzazz Seam Binding and made a double bow and a cute Melon Mambo Button with a bit of linen thread through it.  How fun!! I love pops of color on white…..so fun and striking. I hope you like it.

Well that’s it for today…..I hope you will visit the other Operators Blogs and certainly play along. We’d love to have you.

My Special Valentine

Hi Everyone,

I had a request from two of my Hostesses to do a Valentine for their workshops. So this is a simple one I came up with. I hope they both like it!

Valentine Red Glitter Paper 001

I used some of the Luscious Glitter Paper from Stampin' Up! for the Hearts punched out with my Heart to Heart Punch. The back Mat is run through the Big Shot with the Polka Dot Emobssing Folder and I made the scalloped trim with the Tasteful Trim Die (love that die)!!!

I then made my bow with my handy dandy bow maker (available for order on my right side bar)and did a double loop bow with our yummy Red Satin Ribbon. Ooh la la!!

image

That’s it for today….if I can help you with any of your stamping needs don’t hesitate to contact me. I’d love to help.

Nature Walk Swap

Hi Everyone,

Don’t forget I have just a few spots left for the “I Want It All” Share. See yesterdays posting for more details.

I’d like to share a swap card I did for the Stamping 411 Card swap we did at Leadership Conference in Nashville last week.It was so good to see the girls and meet some of them for the very first time.

 Leadership 2011 002

I used the nature Walk Stamp Set for my swap…..done in white of course….didn’t want to shock anyone there with color!! hehe

The Faux Scallop Mats are done in Baja Breeze as is the Double Loop ribbon bow. The bow of course is made with my Magic Bow Maker. I presented each operator with one at our lunch. Hope they have fun with it. If you are interested in one just click here to order. You won’t be sorry you did. I got so many wonderful comments at Leadership with Demonstrators telling me how much they loved theirs. It’s bow making made easy!!!

That’s it for today….I hope you are having a wonderful week and hope to see you back soon.

Oh!! I have a tutorial on Stamping 411 today on how to make the Scalloped Mat. Enjoy!

Stamping 411 Sketch Challenge 186

Hi Everyone,

Time for another Sketch Challenge from Stamping 411

I am at  Leadership Conference in Nashville right now so I had to per-post this but hope you will still play along while I hang out with the Operators in Nashville. Whoo Hoo!

Here is the sketch ….

SSC186

…and my interpretation……I know….lots of color this time. It’s a miracle, huh? My Husband Collects Lighthouses and his favorite is a red one he has …..sooooooo….had to go Red

 Sketch 186 002

The Card Base is Riding Hood Red and is cut to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 the Baja Strip on the bottom is 2 1/2 x 4 1/2…..and run through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder. I sponged the top edge after tearing with Baja…..there may have been a smidgen of black on my sponge huh?

The large Black Mat is 3 1/8 x 4 1/2 and the Vanilla Mat is 3 x 4 1/8. The small Black Mat is 2 5/8 x 3 7/8 and the Image is stamped with Black Stazon onto Watercolor Paper (luv that stuff) and colored in with my Aqua Painter and Crayons in Various shades.

I switched the side for the button as it seemed for this card it was more balanced. I used my Black Marker and colored the linen thread black to match the mat and tied it to the button. That’s it. Hope you like it!!!

Thanks for stopping in and we’ll see you over at Stamping 411!!

Kind of a Vintage feel with the lace and I used the Distressing Ink over the embossed cardstock. Kind of cool huh?

Stamping 411 Sketch Challenge 185

Happy New Year Everyone!!!

It’s so exciting!! the start of another Year. The start of another year of adventures with the Stamping 411 Operators. It’s always fun and exciting to see what they all come up with. Don't you think Selene came up with a fabulous team of Operators…..I know I’ve said it before but I am thrilled to be a part of such a wonderful group of ladies. Here’s to another Year Girls!!! Cheers!!

I’ve made some New Years Resolutions and hope to keep them all….especially the staying on my diet one!!! hehe…think I’ll make it? You know I love to cook and love good food….so that makes it tough….but I’m going to try.

Here is the sketch for this week…

SSC185

……and my interpretation……

January Cards and Sketch 185 020

The Image is from the new Nature Walk Set and is a favorite of mine. I used the flower image and inked it up with two markers….my Rose Red and Old Olive.

The Card Base is Very Vanilla and cut to 4 1/4 x 11 and folded in half. The embossed mat has been run through the Big Shot with the New Tulip Embossing Folder…..and it was cut to 4 x 5 1/4. The Rose Red mat was cut to 3 x 4 1/8 and fits nicely into the center of the frame…..the image piece is 2-7/8 x 4 which when place on the rose red creates just a tiny smidgen of color. I created my bow using the Rose Red Seam Binding and made my double bow. This Ribbon is GREAT for multi loop bows. The Happy Birthday saying is from the Create a Cupcake set and inked up with my Old Olive Marker…that’s it. Quick, Easy and Elegant…hope you like it.

Thanks for stopping in and don’t forget to hop on over to the Stamping 411 Blog and play along.
