Fifth Avenue Floral and Special Announcement

Good Morning Everyone!

I’d like to share a simple card I will be doing at my Start to Finish Class next week.

Sketches and 5th ave 009

This card measures 5 1/4 x 5 1/4 square. It’s a very simple and easy to duplicate card for just about any occasion. The center panel is stamped with our Fifth Avenue Floral Stamp Set from Stampin’ Up! The color used were Real Red and So Saffron. I did a little bit of faux matting in red by just adding little strips of red at the top and bottom. No sense in wasting all that cardstock, right? The Ribbon is luscious Real Red Satin Ribbon which is tied with my Bow Maker.

Now for some good news…..my Hubby is making these Bow Makers and if any of you are interested in purchasing one just let me know. I know a lot of you were asking how I did my Ribbons and here is what I’ve been using.  Just click the contact me button at the top of my blog.

I’ll be doing a Tutorial this week on how to use it.

Bow Maker 001

That’s it for today…..I’ll be back soon.

I Green Galore Cardstock and Whisper White Craft Ink for the flowers. the flower is from the Tropical Party Set in our New Summer Mini.

Isn’t it fun. I think I’ll wear them to the pool tomorrow….hehe

Actually I got the idea and Template from Donna over at Butternut Sage Designs tell her Lee sent you!!

Stamping 411 Sketch 153 Bella’s Bloom

Hi Everyone,

Well did you have fun guessing who’s card belonged to who on Stamping 411 this past week? It sure was fun wasn’t it? Don’t forget to see who the winner will be for the Blog Candy!!!

It’s time for yet another sketch and here it is:

ssc153

…and of course my interpretation.

Bella's Bloom Sketch 153 002

I have yet to use this cute little set called “Bella’s Bloom” and decided it was time!!! Such a cute little image it is. I stamped the flower by inking up my stamp with my Melon Mambo Marker and Old Olive Marker. Huffed on it and stamped.  The Thank You was done on Vellum with Black Stazon.

I used Melon Mambo Cardstock 4 1/4 x 11 and  ran the front of it through the Big Shot with the cute little Polka Dot Embossing Folder. My Black Mat is just a smidgen bigger 2 5/8x/3 7/8 than the white image piece which measures 2 1/2 x 3 3/4.

I used my mat pack and paper piercer for the stitching and some of the Melon Mambo Polka Dot Ribbon to create the bow (Tutorial coming soon).

The Thank You is from Teeny Tiny Wishes which has so many sayings in it. One of my favorite sets.

I appreciate you stopping by and hope you will visit again. Don’t forget to stop by Stamping 411 to see what’s going on.

Have a Stampinglee Good Day!

The Big Reveal

Good Morning Everyone!

This is the day that all of us “Operators” over at Stamping 411 come clean and tell you which card was ours.

Here is my card that I did for our One Year Anniversary over at Stamping 411. A lot of people had me pegged….but there were quite a few that didn’t. It sure was fun guessing wasn’t it?

Sketch 152 002_thumb[8]

For this card I showcased “Watercolor Trio” Stamp Set. It’s so gorgeous. I wanted to do something a bit more dramatic so I embossed it over some watercolor paper. So you’re probably wondering what the heck I’m talking about, as we don’t have colored watercolor paper……well we do whey you give it a wash of color. What I di was add some Dusty Durango re-inker, water and Gold Shimmer Mist in a small container and then brush it across the watercolor paper. It’s just a wonderful effect…I hope you will try it. I wish you could see the shimmer in real life…..it’s so pretty. I sued the Finial Press Embossing Folder and added some scored lines to the the white strip under the image. Then I decided to add some black to really make it pop!!!

Cardstock: Whisper White, Dusty Durango and Black

Ink: Versarmark

Misc: Black Embossing Powder, Re-inker, Shimmer Mist and Butterfly Sizzlet. Oohhhhh….let’s not forget the Black Satin Ribbon….it’s to die for.

I want to Thank all of the other Operators for being such a huge part of my life this year and for all of they’re inspiration. What a fabulous group of Ladies!!! It’s an honor to be amongst them.

….and a extra big Thank You to Selene Kempton for coming up with this idea in the first place. She is our Founder and Group Mom and just the BEST!!!! Love you Girlfriend!!!

I guess that’s it today except to thank all of you for visiting my blog and our Stamping 411 blog. It’s because of you that we continue to do what we do.

Rubber Hugs to all of you and as always….

We welcomed a new member today….she came all the way from Gainesville, Florida!!! She fit right in and I think had a blast….it’s hard not to with these women…..it’s kind of mandatory. hehe

We’ve got lots planned for June….just ask them. They keep me hoppin’!!!! Thanks ladies for making me laugh and touching my heart…love you all.

Come back tomorrow and see the big Stamping 411 reveal!!!

Thoughts and Prayers

Good Morning Everyone,

I was saddened yesterday when I heard a friend of mine lost his son. It was very unexpected and such a tragedy. I was asked by our group to create something simple in the way of a card as he is a simple but meaningful man.

My very first thought was to pick up Thoughts and Prayers….it’s so simple, yet elegant and speaks volumes.

I have kept this very simple in respect of the request. This one’s for you Harry!

Thoughts and Prayer's 003….and as the verse reads inside: “Praying for friends to comfort you, faith to uphold you, and loving memories to heal your heart”.

I believe that says it all.

Thanks for stopping by,

Daffodil Delight Meets Eastern Blooms

Hi Everyone,

Just a really quick card to showcase one of our new colors coming out on July 1st. It’s Daffodil Delight and I’ve combined with with Eastern Blooms. Isn’t it beautiful?

Have you ever just wanted to show off the beautiful Cardstock? That’s what I decided to do here. I paired it with Eastern Blooms Stamp Set from Stampin’ Up!

 Daffodil Delight Eastern Blooms 005

I stamped the big bloom image in White Craft Ink. I love the white against this color….to me it warrants being shown off in it’s own beauty. I added the sentiment from Best Wishes and More and finished it off with some pearls from the Pretties Kit. I honestly tried my best to get a ribbon on this card and I just couldn’t do it. It just needed to be left simple.

I hope you enjoy my little share this evening…..it’s been a long day but I had to stamp something!!!

Nice and Easy Little Girl Cards…..

Hi Everyone,

I’ve got two very simple cards I created today for some very special girls I will be stamping with tomorrow. They are Middle School age and this is an afternoon program for them. I was asked to help them out….and I told them I’d be happy to.

This first card is great for beginners as it’s just stamped in different colors….punched out with out 1 1/4” and 1 3/8” Square punches and then mounted with dimensionals onto the card front. I felt this was easy enough for them and still pretty. The Program coordinator at the school said they were teaching them to do Thanks You Notes….so I hope they like these.

Hawk and pace cards 004

The next one is using some of or Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper no longer available but I still love it and thought I’d share.

Hawk and pace cards 006

I may have them run the front of this card through the Big Shot…I’m sure they will love doing that. I will let them make an Initial Card as a Thank You as well.

Easy Peasy Nice and Easy!! I hope they like them. What do you think?

Thanks for stopping by and as always……

Elements of Style Sketch Challenge

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to another Stamping 411 Sketch Challenge. Can you believe another week has gone by? I can’t!!! I hope you’ll hop on over and play along with us this week.

Here is the sketch:

ssc151

….and my interpretation……

 Elements of Style 002

I showcased the Elements of Style Stamp Set out of the New Stampin’ Up! Summer Mini Catalog.  Isn’t it pretty?

I stamped the image on Watercolor Paper with Stazon and colored in with my aqua Painter and Watercolor Wonder Crayons. I then mounted it onto a larger circle of Black to make the mat.

The card itself measures 5 1/2 x 8 1/2

Black Mat: 4 x 5 1/4

Vanilla Embossed Piece is 3 7/8 x 5 1/8

I then attached some Black Satin Ribbon and attached to the back of the two mats and then put the circles on with dimensionals. The Bird is stamped on Very Vanilla and cut out and adhered with dimensionals as well. The saying was stamped with a small scrap and cut out.

Then…………..I decided to spray it with Smooch Spray….take my word for it you wan to do this before assembling your card. I have it everywhere and that was not my intentions. Little is more and I have LOTS!!! It’s till a pretty card but I will smooch before I assemble next time. By the way the Hummingbird has a crystal eye but I smooched it and it’s white!!!! hehe

technique class and Start to Finish 002_thumb[12]

This card was so much fun to make. I’d say a little out of the ordinary for this particular set but oh so fun to do. Can’t you just feel the cool damp sand on your feet?

I love the look of this Color Wash on Watercolor Paper showcased on a single mat of Vanilla popped up with dimensionals on a Vanilla Card.

I added a bit of Shimmer Paint to the mix for the shimmer you can’t see. Wish you could!!!

All A Flutter & Happy Mother’s Day!

Good Morning Everyone!

Happy Mother’s Day to all of you! I hope you are having a wonderful day.

My card share for today is showcasing the “All A Flutter” Butterfly Stamp from Stampin’ Up!

All a Flutter

This is a new single Stamp sold in our New Summer Mini and it’s just fabulous. So much detail in this little Butterfly. I embossed the butterfly on Confetti White cardstock with Black Embossing Powder. Then colored in using re-inkers and my Aqua Painters. My choice of colors were Crushed Curry and Dusty Durango for the Butterflies. The sentiment is from the New Watercolor Trio Set and just fit perfectly onto the strip for me. I used a couple of my faux brads on either side. to finish it off along with my black grosgrain ribbon. The font is just beautiful on the sentiment, don’t you agree? The base of the card is confetti white and it’s paired with Black and Crushed Curry Cardstock.

I hope you have enjoyed my little share this Mother’s Day and hope that you will enjoy the day.

If I can assist you with any of your stamping needs don’t hesitate to contact me or visit my online store here.

Herb Expressions Sketch Challenge Card

Hi Everyone!

Welcome to my blog and to another Stamping 411 Sketch Challenge. I hope you will hop on over there Saturday Moring to see what my Sister Operators are doing. They are awesome and some of the BEST talent in the Industry. They are my inspiration!!! ….and a big thanks and hug to Selene a=our Sketch Master for another awesome sketch…..she’s amazing.

Without further ado…..here is the sketch:

ssc150 (2)

….and my interpretation……

Herb expressions and Butterfly Boxes 003For this card I am showcasing the Herb Expressions Set and just love what you can accomplish with two markers and so little effort. I inked up the marker several times with my Elegant Eggplant and Old Olive Markers….huffed on the stamp after inking up to re-moisten and stamp….I stamped again in a few places brining in some lighter images. (For those of you that don’t know what Huffing is it’s a little heavy breathing onto your stamp which re-moistens the ink for you. )

This card was so easy peasy…..yesterday I was swamped with a project and was having trouble deciding what to do with this sketch but then it came to me last night. It went together like a dream.

The measurements are:

Card Base: 5 1/4 x 10 1/2 folded in half

Elegant Eggplant Mat: 3 1/2 x 4

Old Olive Mat: 2 1/2 x 3 3/4

Image Piece: 2 3/8 x 3 5/8

I added some of our gorgeous satin Ribbon in Old Olive and used the little saying from Enjoy Every Moment. I added a few dots with my marker before the saying. the three little circles are done using my 1/4 “ circle punch and adhered with glue dots. I hope Stampin’ Up! brings this little punch back….I miss it and love using it.

Well thanks again for stopping by and hope to see you back real soon……or maybe on over at the Stamping 411 blog to see what you come up with for the challenge.

My Rhinestone Brad Bow Tutorial

Good Morning Everyone,

I have had so many requests for a Tutorial on how I make my Rhinestone Brad Bows….so here you go……

First you need some of our wonderful Satin Ribbon from Stampin’ Up! I find that works best, and a Rhinestone Brad.

Rhinestone Brad Bow Tutorial 002

Open the Rhinestone Brad fully and place Rhinestone face down so that it is ready for your ribbon.

Rhinestone Brad Bow Tutorial 003

Start to make your first loop as seen below..

Rhinestone Brad Bow Tutorial 004

Loop back and forth like Ribbon Candy

Rhinestone Brad Bow Tutorial 005

One more time so you have four loops…then cut with your Ribbon Scissors.

Rhinestone Brad Bow Tutorial 006

Here is a side view

Rhinestone Brad Bow Tutorial 008

Flip the ribbon over as the smaller loops will go face down into the brad and pinch together in the center as shown below.

Rhinestone Brad Bow Tutorial 009

Hold together pinched and set into open brad.

Rhinestone Brad Bow Tutorial 010

Close the top prong of the brad down over the center of the ribbon and………

Rhinestone Brad Bow Tutorial 011

then close the bottom prong up to complete and press firmly down to secure.

Rhinestone Brad Bow Tutorial 012

Flip over and Viola’ Instant Ribbon Bow. I attach to the Ribbon with a few glue dots. Of course you will want to fluff up your ribbon a bit, but that’s it.

Rhinestone Brad Bow Tutorial 014

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you back soon. ….and as always…….
