Bloomin’ Beautiful Royal Blog Tour

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to the Royal Blog Tour....don't' forget to leave a comment...you could win the set above as your very own.....I will let Random.org select one lucky winner so don't forget to leave a comment.

...now.....on with the show....

What an exciting Day!!! This is the day we’ve all been waiting for. “The Royal Blog tour”!!! I hope you enjoy my share today featuring an Oldie but a Goodie!!! “Bloomin’ Beautiful”!!!! It’s one of my favorite sets and just lends itself to cards sets and Beautiful Cards made simple. So sit back and enjoy!!!

Blog Tour 2010 002

This first card is done using the long stemmed image. I colored it in with Lovely Lilac and a bit of green for the leaves, a dash of yellow in the center just of a touch of sunshine. I have paired the Lovely Lilac with our simple and Elegant Very Vanilla Cardstock. It’s yummy!

You probably remember my little crimping trick from last year….I decided to bring it back since it was such a hit only with different colors and the scalloped trim border. Don’t forget that. This look was achieved with our new scallop punch and matching corner punch. It’s so delicate. I love it. What about that ribbon? Is it to die for or what? I adore these ribbons, they are so easy to work with and lovely to look at. Hope you like it. I wish you could see the shimmer on the card but you can’t it’s totally shimmery from the shimmer mist I’ve sprayed on it’s entirety.

Tutorial for the Crimping will be shown after the tour as so many of you have asked for it.

My next card uses the same set only it’s larger card using the same image three times. Textured Background is from our newest Embossing Folder available to you on July 1st. I also used the or little Embosslit for the Butterflies. This card is shimmery too but not in this photo….it measures 4 1/2 x 6 1/4

Blog Tour 2010 005

My last card showcase the same set only the other image of flowers in a Vase. I decided to make this one a large square measuring 5 1/4 x 5 1/4.

I ran the front of the card through my Big shot using one of our texturz Plates for the swirl in the background. The bow is done with my special Bow Treatment using a Rhinestone Brad and of course using our luscious Vanilla Satin Ribbon.

Blog Tour 2010 007

I guess That’s it for today. I hope you have enjoyed your stay and will continue on with the Tour.

As Always Thanks for stopping by and have a ……….

Petal Pazazz With Added Pazazz!

Hi Everyone,

This post is a few days early as to not interfere with the Royal Blog Tour....so I'm giving you a few days to play with the new sketch ...sort of a sneak peek!! So enjoy and I'll see you soon.

I’ve got a treat for you today. It’s another sketch challenge from Stamping 411

I sure hope you’ll play along. I haven’t had this “Petal Pazzaz” off the shelf in a very long time. So I decided to pull it down and see what I could do. I had seen a background done by Rose Marie Diehl and fell in love with it and wanted to incorporate it into this card.

Petal Pazazz 003

Isn’t the background paper just delightful? that’s the part I borrowed from Rose. Too cool!! You punch out a few different size circles and place the negative on your mat and sponge different colors in. Thanks Rosie for the great idea!! They I ran it through the big shot using the new Square Lattice Embossing Folder soon to be released. Okay so that's the background. I used Pixie Pink and Crushed Curry for the colors by the way.

I used a strip of Razzle Dazzle DSP running across the card and then added a strip of Crushed Curry to tie everything in.

The flower is stamped on white using the largest flower in the Petal Pazazz Set. I inked with Pixie Pink and then Kissed it with my Stripped Stamp to remove a bit of color on the flowers to add the texture look. I made three of those and cut them out, scrunched them up and ruffled their feathers so to speak…..then stacked with dimensionsals in between. The center of the flower is done using my secret recipe I will share soon. I promise!

The sentiment was stamped in Basic Black by the way before I ran it through the Big Shot.

Card dimensions:

Whisper white Card foldover 4 1/2 x 11

White mat: 4 x 5 1/4

DSP: 2 3/4 x 4 1/4

Scrap of Crushed Curry 1/2 x 4 1/4

Crushed Curry Mat 3x3

White Mat: 2 3/4 x 2 3/4

That’s it for today….make sure to visit the other Operators on Stamping 411 and see what wonderful things they come up with this week. Thanks Selene for the awesome sketch!!!! Love ya Girlfriend!!

Thanks for stopping in and hope to see you back soon……and as always…………………………

Herb Expressions

HI Everyone,

Just a quick share of a card I did today at a Condo Association on the Beach here in Jacksonville , Florida.

This was the 2nd card we did and I wanted to keep it simple so as not to overwhelm everyone. They really had fun with the Big Shot, Aqua Painters and Crayons as well as the Markers. I was a bit intimidated as this was an art group and they were very receptive to me and Stampin’ Up! and could think of many ways to incorporate our product into their art.

Here is the simple card we did using Her Expressions….

Pablo 013

They loved it and the stamp set. You should have seen them embellishing with the aqua painters. I was in awe.Pablo 011 Here they are busy at work.

Can I just show you this piece of artwork done by a gentleman there……can you guess who it is????

Pablo 008 Pablo 010

Is thins not incredible. This was his first people piece! He had only done nature scenes before. WOW!!! He’s got her down to the smallest little mole on her face….amazing!

I hope you enjoyed my little share today….I enjoyed showing to my new friends and look forward to seeing them again.

Razzle Dazzle Sketch Challenge

Good Morning Everyone and welcome to another Saturday Sketch Challenge from Stamping 411

I am featuring the Razzle Dazzle Stamp Set today and hope you enjoy it.

Here is the sketch:ssc148 (2)

…and my interpretaion.

Razzle Dazzle Sketch 148 005

Can I just say “I’m in Love”? I am using the New Stampin’ Up! Square Lattice Embossing Folder on this card and the texture is to die for!!! It’s really cool enough in itself for a card but add to it for an easy WOW!!!!

I’ve inked up my Razzle Dazzle Stamp with More Mustard, Old Olive, So Saffron and Pumpkin Markers. Simply color the image as you imagine it and then huff on it (Heavy Breathing) to remoisten the ink. Then stamp…that simple. I’ve backed it on a Chocolate Chip Mat and adhered to my wonderful new textured CS mat tied my ribbon around  and then attached to my card front. I decided to do a bit of ribbon fraying to add some some interest and a Pumpkin Button I had on hand. I also added a few tiny colored rhinestone that I had in my stash….and that’s it.

The dimensions are:

Vanilla Foldover 5 1/2 x 8 1/2

Vanilla Textured Mat 4 x 5 1/4

Chocolate Mat 2 1/2 x 2 3/4

Vanilla Image piece 2 3/8 x 2 5/8

Thanks for stopping by I’d love to hear your comments about this new Embossing Folder and what you think. now go on over to the Stamping411 Blog and try the challenge, it’s great!!!

….and now onto some butterflies!!!!I have an exciting weekend coming up here in Jacksonville, Florida. This Saturday April 24th I will be at the Tree Hill Nature Reserve off of Lonestar Road. It will be the Joseph H. Strausser Butterfly Festival. The event is from 10am-5pm.

I hope if you are in the area you will stop by and visit. Grab the Family and get up close and personal when they release 1000 Butterflies. There will be music, activities and lots of Nature. I took my Grandkids there when they were here for Easter and we had a blast on the Nature Trails and observing the Animals. Just an all around great experience.

Speaking of Grandkids.....here is my Granddaughter Kayla who was gracious enough to model a few of the things I have made for the Festival. I have donated some of these items to the Organization I am working with (I am a member) to help raise Money for Research for Autism and Developmental Disabilities.

…..without further ado.....my Beautiful Kayla!!!

Here she is modeling her one of a kind Blue Cap with Green and Blue Butterflies. I think it so brings out her blue eyes…..too cute.

She was so eager to model she went home with her won collection and even a few things for her Best Friend Emma. I’ve had word that Emma loves hers too.

The Butterflies were cut out of Flannel and Felt using my Butterfly Die and and my Big Shot. This was such a wonderful project to make for this event….

One more special picture of another eager model….and that is my little friend Natalie….her eyes just lit up when she saw these when she visited here with her Mom. How could I resist those eyes?

Nature’s Nest Black Magic by Rose Ann

Hi Everyone,

I have a special share today. One of my downline (and friends) Rose Ann Marr stopped by today and brought a few of the projects she was working on. This is her beautiful Rendition of Nature’s Nest using the Black Magic Technique.

Rose Ann's Black Magic Card 003

Isn't it lovely? It’s always surprising to see others work and they’re color choices. I love the blue and black and most likely would not have thought to pair them the way she did and bring the blue out in the eggs. Love it!!!!! Then she added the Gorgeous Stain Ribbon……oh it’s so dramatic in real life. Wish it had photographed better. The Textured mat is done using the Finial Press Embossing Folder and she dabbed a little white Craft Ink on the raised part. So-o-o-o pretty!

When I did my Black Magic I used watercolor pencil’s where she used Stampin’ Pastels (chalks). There are a number of ways to achieve different levels of color depending on product you use. With the Pastel’s its softer.

I’m glad you took a minute to stop by today and hope you will come back soon.

Old Olive Challenge

Good Morning Everyone,

Every week one of my team members (Karen) gives us a color challenge. Luckily for me it was Old Olive this week. I love Old Olive and find it very easy to work with.

This is a combination of Kerin Sylvesters Card and my own. I had a scrap of Watercolor paper sitting on my desk along with this set and it’s what I used. I remembered how Kerin had lined up these flowers and loved it. So decided to try.

Bloomin Beautiful OO challenge 002

I added a bit of sunshine and some green below for the challenge along with So Saffron, and Always artichoke using the Pocket Silhouettes Stamp Set. Once it was all stamped I ran my watercolor brush over all the colors in the grassy area to make the Old Olive prominent and give it a watercolor feel. I decided to add the sun last (not a goo move). I used my 1 1/4” mask and dabbled on color and then moved it around with my Aqua Painter very lightly.

The flowers were stamped with Black Stazon and colored with So saffron first and then added a bit of Pretty in pink on top and blended just a bit. I wanted it to resemble water color.

I decided it didn’t need a ribbon as the matting took care of that. Don’t you think?

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you’ll come back soon.

Greenhouse Garden Sketch Challenge

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to another Stamping 411 Sketch Challenge.

Here is today’s sketch:

 ssc147

…and my interpretation……

Garden Whimsey Sketch 147 002

I’ve chosen the Greenhouse Garden set for this challenge as it’s one of my favorite sets.

I just love all colors of pink and paired with Basic Gray is fabulous to me. I hope you like it.

I’ve used Regal Rose for the mat and a small piece of dotted DSP from our “sweet Pea” Designer Series Pad. Love that paper!!!

To give it some interest I cut 1/4” strips to add over the DSP and added some Basic Gray Butterflies created with the Beautiful Wings Embosslit Die.

The sentiment is from the Great Friend Stamp Set and stamped in Basic Gray. The 2-step flowers from Greenhouse Garden are done in Pretty in Pink and Regal Rose. I also used an epoxy Brad called Sending Love to make one of my Ribbon Bows (which I promise to show soon) over Basic Gray Satin Ribbon. That Ribbon is so Yummy!! I guess that’s it. I hope you enjoyed your visit and hope you’ll come back soon.

By the way this card is over-sized at 4 1/2 x 6 1/4.

Don’t forget to play along!!!

Hope you all have a Stampinglee Good Day

My Little Black Book

Good Moring Everyone,

I wanted to share my little Black Book (not exactly all black) with you.

Contatct Book 002

This was made for me to keep in my purse for the sole purpose of keeping important info in it.

How often are we out an about and don’t have a thing to write on or in? This is just a little back and white marbled composition book covered with Kraft Cardstock and Stamped with Black Stazon using our new set (due out in July) Elements of Style. I added some Black 5/5” satin Ribbon for the closure and my initial using my alphabet and Big Shot to cut it out. It’s simple and easy and stylish I think. I hope you like it too. This was a bit of a challenge to my team to make one and they will be bringing theirs tonight. I can’t wait to see what they have created. The object of this is to be able to collect contact info while out and about while sharing a stamped piece of artwork at the same time. Cool, huh? It’s always good to be prepared!!!

Thanks for Stopping by and as always wish you all a ….

Medallion Case

Well my customer that requested the yellow and orange yesterday wanted to do a version of what it on the front of the Stampin’ Up! Catalog. So I recreated it. I suggested we make Monogrammed note cards using the Big Shot Alphabet and she agreed that would be fun. so here is the finished product.Darlene Medallion Card 003

I used Very Vanilla, a snippet of Real Red and Kraft Card Stock. The ink is Crushed Curry. The Headliner here is the Medallion Stamp on the front of the card housing the Die from the Movers and Shapers and our Curly Label Punch which fit together just beautifully. Jus the way I like it with just a hint of a border. I popped up the Letter piece with dimensionals. Hope you like it. Thanks for the inspiration Stampin’ Up!

Elegant Trio Stencil Set

Good Morning Everyone!

I have a special customer that has requested we do something in orange and yellow for her workshop this coming Saturday. So I decided to give the Elegant Trio Stencil Set a whirl.

Elegant Trio Stencil Set 002

This stencil is really fun to do and I think she will be happy (I hope so anyway) with trying a new product to incorporate the colors she wanted.

I used a texturz plate on the base of the card and the ticket corner punch on the image and layers behind it to generate some interest and not take away from the stenciled flower.  I used Yoyo Yellow, Only Orange (I know, I know …so not like me) and Old Olive. I also used the Itty Bitty Backgrounds to sprinkle in a bit of color.

I decided this card warranted a matching envelope too. So tell me what do you think…..is it workshop worthy?

The center of the flower is a secret for now. I will share that later this week.

Thanks for stopping by and as always…..

Have a Stampinglee Good Day!
