I’m So Proud……….

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to share a little of what I did this weekend. I went to Howy in the Hills, Florida to The “Mission Resort and Club” to see my Husband Darrell win two prestigious awards. One for the Elementary School he built here in Florida and another award for the job he just completed for the Army!! I’m so proud of him!!!

You know he received a coin from the Colonel at the Base where he was which was one of the Colonel’s personal coins of excellence. The Colonel presented it to him at a lunch and said he had never given one to a civilian before. Isn’t that something?

Here we are last night before the dinner and awards started at the Mission Inn…this was right outside of the massive dining room they had. Lot’s of Antiques and Armor all over the place.

Awards Dinner at Howey in the Hills 009

We spent the night there with fellow employees and friends. It was very beautiful with it’s golf course, pools and other attractions close by. It’s still a bit cool here (not like other places).

Here he is holding one of his awards…..With him are his boss and Project Manager.

Anyway no stamping today….today is his day……..

I’ll be back tomorrow with something fun for you.

A Big Congrats to my Husband….he deserves it!

I hope you all have a ……………

Sweet Little Bird

Good Morning Everyone,

Welcome to another weekend of fun wit the Stamping 411 Challenge. I hope you will find a little time this weekend to play along.

Here is the Sketch:

ssc140

…and my interpretation……

Pink and White Bird 002

This is the first time I’ve used this cute little Bird and Branch Punch (It’s called the Extra Large Two-Step bird). How sweet is it? Pretty Simple card again with very little stamping. I did stamp the Solid Stripes Background as the background piece with Pretty in Pink. I wanted to show a softer side with this cool Stamp. I actually stamped it twice and taped the two pieces together to achieve the width I wanted.

I then matted it on pink ….did a mat using my Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder and matted that on Pretty in Pink again and then onto the Base of the card.

The Bird and branches were punched out of Whisper White and attached with dimensionals.

Now for the flowers. I did the three Flower punch on Copy Paper and sponged the edges of five flowers and attached with a brad in the center. then pulled up one layer at a time to scrunch towards the center. I did two size flowers.

When I saw this sketch…I knew I would use these flowers…..

I didn’t put a sentiment as I love to keep cards blank until I need them.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you liked my interpretation of the sketch today and will have time to play along with us over at Stamping 411

Wishing you all a ……

Ohhhhhhhhhhh….How Peaceful and Serene

Good Morning Everyone,

Here is the final card I did at the Michelle Zindorf Class this past Saturday.

We used the Lovely as a Tree Stamp Set which is a MUST HAVE for any stamper. It is one of the very first stamp sets I purchased when I started stamping. It’s just the best!!!!

Zindorf Class 003

I actually have several mistakes on this card and even transposed the whole image….but that’s alright….it’s still beautiful to me. After all what is it they say? Practice makes perfect or at least better!!!

Thanks Michelle for a wonderful workshop and Thanks Sharon for hosting it.

I hope you all enjoyed my last three days of Zindorf and hope to post more of my attempts of brayering soon.

Thanks for stopping by and as always….

Bling,Bling & More Bling!

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to another Stamping 411 Challenge. I hope you will play along this week

Here is the sketch:ssc139

and my interpretation…..I guess I drifted a bit but it’s allowed! hehe

swap and 411- 139 003

I actually left a little space at the bottom for a little banner I will stamp and place on it when I decide who will get this card. I often don’t stamp sentiments until I need the card.

Anyway this card was a huge challenge for me. Lots of blank space to fill. I had been thinking about this Trellis treatment for sometime and finally did it. It was one of those things in my head that wouldn’t go away. Then  one of my Team Members Karen, proposed a challenge using Glorious Green!!!! Whoa!!!! That is huge for me. I don’t think I’ve used that color often. So today is the day to pull that color out and give it a shot. I guess I’ve always thought of that color for Christmas only! So I wanted to make it Spring like with some Pizzazz!

Actually this was the color and almost the same flowers as the Bridesmaid Dress I wore to my Brother’s wedding a million years ago. So that was my inspiration.

I did a little ribbon dying with my marker on the White Taffeta Ribbon so it would match the green. I put that aside and used my Trellis Die and cut two white and two green. I popped the white trellis ( I used one and a half) up with little tiny pieces of cut up dimensionals. Ten I though maybe I could plug in some fo the green scraps from the green trellis’ I cut out to give it a bit of a Stained Glass look. I put those in with Tombo Multi.

i then cut a gajillion little flowers using my Birds and Blooms Sizzlit Die using white Vellum…..Now if you should want to do these little flowers run the vellum through the Polka Dot Embossing Folder first. I put in there after I cut the flowers so it took a bit longer. I then put two flower together with a glue dot and added a rhinestone to the center of each and placed them strategically on the Trellis.Oh, I added a Rhinestone Brad to the Ribbon to match. That’s it!!! No Stamping what so ever….that is until I put my sentiment on there.

I hope you’ve enjoyed your visit and will check out what my Fellow Operators have done for this challenge. They are AWESOME!!!! I am so fortunate to be a part of this great team, and Selene our Creator of all these wonderful Sketches is just the BEST!!!

Now go out there and Have a Stampinglee Good Day!!!

A Flower for All Seasons

Good Moring Everyone!

If you’re in cold country I thought I’d bring a little Spring your way.

This card features “ A flower for All Seasons” Stamp Set from Stampin’ Up! During Sale-a-Bration this is one of the sets you can earn for FREE!! With any qualifying order of $50 in merchandise this set can be yours for FREE!

The base of the card is our Kraft Card Stock and I’ve used Glorious Green to accent the square the images set on. The images are stamped with Black Stazon and I used watercolor paper. My coloring medium was the water color pencils and an Aqua Painter. Fun…Fun….Fun to blend the colors.

I did my little white polka dots with the tip a pencil eraser to give it a bit more Springy feel. I then tied my white organza ribbon to top it off.

Carole Anne and flower for all Seasons 001

I hope you’ve enjoyed you little bit of Spring here today and will come back often. I will be doing this card at my Meetup Group on Tuesday Morning. Let me know if you’re interested.

candle holder and Asian Artistry 003

Now………………..

I’d like to share a card I did with the “Solid Stripes” Stamp that is getting to be one of my favorites. It is available in our Occasions Mini which can be viewed on my website.

I am finding this little stamp to be very versatile…as I just finished a very feminine card and now a masculine one with it.

So what do you think?

swap and 411- 139 002

I’ve used Very Vanilla on the card base and run it though the Finial Press Embossing folder to add some Texture to the background.

I’ve then stamped the Striped stamp with Versamark and used Black Embossing Powder to give it a rich look and matted it on black and then a bigger piece of Old Olive….very Manly wouldn’t you say? I added a piece of 5/8” Black Grosgrain and did a small loop bow using a clear rhinestone brad.

The sentiment is embossed as well on a die cut from the Matchbox Die (gift from my dear friend Laura, told you I’d use it), I love that die.

So that’s it! I made this card for a swap I was in and hope everyone liked it. I just thought it time for me to do a few Masculine cards.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you’ll come back soon.

….and as always….

Cook Book? Surely you jest!

Good Morning Everyone!

I have found a great use for Cookbooks! Yes you heard me right. I wanted to try the Scallop Circle Flower I’ve seen around and wanted to use old book pages I didn’t care too much about. So I went scouring through some old cookbooks I’ll never use and this is what I’ve come up with for my Stamping 411 Challenge card this week. I hope you enjoy it.

Here is the sketch:ssc138

…and my interpretation….

Stamping 411 Sketch 138 004

So what do you think? I really had fun with this card and even though I know it will take a box and lots of packing materials to mail, it was fun and so out of the box for me!!!

I’m having a blast with the new miniature background stamp from Stampin’ Up! called “Solid Stripes. Something caught my eye on this one and I just had to have it. I decided to make it more feminine today and stamp with it one way in Green Galore and the other way in Pink Passion, kind of making a plaid pattern. Isn’t that fun????? I then trimmed that piece and matted on a 2 3/4x 23/4 piece of Pink Passion.

The Card base is Pink Passion and measures 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded. The white mat is 5” x 4” and run through the Big Shot with my Perfect Dots Embossing Folder. I then cut a strip of Green Galore and stamped the stripes again on it with Green Galore for a tone on tone appearance. I had a scrap on my desk of Pink Passion and decided to add the scallop punch on the bottom as an after thought.

The flower is punched with my Scallop Punch (my friend Carole’ Anne taught me this). Check out her fabulous blog. Talk about a Talented Lady!!!!

You punch 10 flowers out of book print or card stock your preference and fold them to teeny tiny. They you unfold and stack them. In my flower I sponged the area before stacking. You then use your paper piercer and make a small hole in the center which you will put a brad through. Once you’ve done that start brining the layers up and scrunching a bit until the flower forms. So easy and fun!!!

The leaves were cut with my little leaves die and the little butterfly’s with the Butterfly embosslit. So very cool to have these tools to create such a whimsical little card in a snap!

Okay I lied…..it was not done in a snap….this was the card that just kept building…but once you’ve done it, it will go quickly!!! hehehe

The little Hello is from Pendant Park and I cut it out using the Matchbox Die which has may shapes in it to play with.

I topped it off with some of our yummy White Satin Ribbon. I brought the ribbon around and taped in back and then just looped the ribbon under the flower and stapled it and set the flower on top.

So there you go.

I hope you will take the time to visit the Stamping 411 blog and play along. There is so much talent there. You’ll have a blast just looking around.

Thanks for stopping by and as always…

Am I Blue???

Good morning Everyone,

Am I Blue? No I’m not, but look at this simple card in Blue.

Stamp Camp 007_thumb[12]

I just love this Satin Ribbon in Blue….it’s so darn Pretty!  I stamped the image from “With All My Heart” onto Bashful Blue with White Craft Ink. Punched a little Strip of Chocolate Chip with our new scallop edge Punch and put it together. I did use our Scalloped Oval and large oval punch for the sentiment…..and there you are. Quick and simple. Oh, I added some little rhinestones to the center of each stamped image. for a little bling and added a Rhinestone brad to the ribbon.

I will be doing this simple card at my Stamp Camp this weekend. If you’re in the area let me know……

I just Couldn’t Resist!

Good Morning Everyone,

Here is another card I will be doing at My Emboss Resist Class tomorrow. I have one class in the morning and one in the evening. I just know the ladies will love the cards they will be doing…..I hope so anyway.

This card was inspired by Natasha Tripp and I just couldn't resist coming up with my own version of it.

Greenhouse Garden Emboss Resist 001_thumb[12]

For this I used the Green House Garden Set from Stampin’ Up!

I stayed in one Stampin’ Up! color family and used Ruby Red, Pumpkin Pie and Summer Sun. It’s just too fabulous to see how well our color families blend. Stampin’ Up! makes it so easy to use color.

The “Well Scripted” Set from Stampin’ Up! is awesome too! I just love the font, don’t you?

This set is in our new Occasions Mini and available for purchase.

You can visit my website to view more of these wonderful sets.

Have to get ready for class now but as always…..I wish you all a ….

Here is the sketch:

ssc137 ………and if you’d like to play along just go to Stamping 411 to submit your entry.

….and here is my interpretation:

Stampin 411 Sketch card Very Vintage Wheel 002

The card base is a 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 piece of whisper white card stock.

My black mat is cut to 3 1/4 x 5 1/8 and I’ve used the new punch from the Sale-a-Bration Brochure on it.

The white image piece is 2 3/4 x 5 and rolled with the fabulous Very Vintage Jumbo Wheel. I rolled a bit extra and cut our a butterfly and flower to color and pop up.

I use a bit of 1/4” Black Grosgrain and my little Thank You stamp was stamped on a scrap piece of Cardstock and popped up with dimesnionals as well. I’ve colored in some of the leaves in the background with Mellow Moss to keep it soft and muted. The flower is done with Pretty in Pink and same on the Butterflies….Mellow Moss and Pretty in Pink.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my little share today and will play along this week over at Stampin 411.

Beatrix Potter Move Over ……..Picnic Parade Matchbox is Here !!

Good Morning Everyone,

Sorry I’ve been away for a few days….I’ve been a bit under the weather. Hopefully I’m on the mend.

Anyway I’m starting to prepare for my February Classes and Workshops. This cute little Matchbox is one I’ll be doing at Kelly’s Workshop as she wanted to do a cute little Easter Box with Chocolate Nuggets.Matchbox Candy Holder 001_thumb[12]

The box of course is made with Stampin’ Up!s  Matchbox Die Cut which I received from a very special friend as a gift.  How sweet is that?

I used Barely Banana Card Stock for the box itself and wanted to add a little texture so added a few polka dots using a new pencil’s eraser and used it as a stamp in our white Craft Ink and dabbed onto the card stock. It’s a soft subtle look but one I like and hope you do too.

The medallion is one that punches out on the Matchbox Die….I love that!!! So I needed a cute little stamp and that’s when I decided to use my new Picnic Parade Stamp set by Stampin’ Up! It’s a Level 2 Hostess set from our new Occasions Mini. It’s very sweet.

I think it looks like a Beatrix Potter Image don’t you? Soft and sweet. The Nuggets are wrapped with small strips of our Tea Party Designer Series Paper. Instant Designer Chocolates for that someone special!!!

If I can assist you with any of these products don’t hesitate to ask or just visit my online store.

Thanks so much for stopping by and as always….
