Happy Moments Challenge Card

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to another Sketch Challenge for Stamping 411.

I hope you’ll enjoy your visit and then hop on over to the 411 blog to see what the other Operators have come up with. It’ always fun to see how different our interpretations are.

Here is the sketch for this week:

ssc136

….and my interpretation.

Kayla's Card and sketch 136 002

I decided to keep this one clean and simple.

The card base is Taken with Teal and measure 5 1/2” x 8 1/2 “

White mat measures 3 1/8 x 3 1/8

Sweet Pea DSP measures 3 x 3

White image piece measures 2 1/2 x 2 1/2

I stamped the image three times. Once on the image piece once on a scrap and once on the DSP. I cut the center gift out of the DSP and adhered it to the image piece with Tombo Mono Multi .  I  colored the gifts in with markers and popped them up  with dimesnionals.

I ran the base card piece through the Big Shot and used our new Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder to add a little texture.

I added some white satin Ribbon and a Rhinestone brad to finish it off. I then used my new little stamp set “Tiny Tags” and used the Jewelry tag punch to make the little tag….how cute is that?

I also used a tiny strip of this gorgeous DSP on the inside of the card as well to finish it off. I hope you’ve enjoyed it.

Thanks for stopping in and hope to see you back soon.

Have a Stampinglee Good Day!

Blog Candy Winner

Hi Everyone just a quick post to let you know that Sara Storey is the winner of this cute little box and card. Sara this will be coming your way soon.

Fancy Favor Die 001_thumb[13]  Meetup cards 007_thumb[14]

Here is what Sara would use this little box for:

“Wow! There are some great ideas posted here -- I especially liked the suggestions of the mini pedicure set and the Bath and Body Works minis. Right now at the Dollar Tree they have soap roses (the same texture as "bath confetti" if you've ever seen that) -- they look like rosebuds and you can tear the petals off one by one for hand/face washing or you can drop an entire bud in the bathtub for a fragrant escape. They come in packages of 9, but I put a single bud in small cello bag with a cute ribbon and tag that has directions for use to get more bang for my buck. You could put the cello bag in Lee's adorable creation with some basket filler (also available at Dollar Tree) and it would make a perfect party favor or Valentine's Day gift.
***If you want them, get them fast ... they usually only have them around Valentine's Day (and they're available in more colors this year than they've ever had before).”

Thanks so much for all the comments. You’ve left some amazing ideas for this little box.

Looks like I will be back soon with some more Blog Candy as I am approaching the 100,000 mark. I so appreciate all of you taking the time to visit.

…now go out and have a Stampinglee Good Day!

Guest Stamper~~~my Granddaughter

Hi Everyone,

I have a special treat for you today. I have a Guest Stamper and her name is Kayla. She happens to be a very talented and beautiful young lady. She also happens to be my Granddaughter.

Kayla's Birthday was in January and we got her oodles of Stampin’ supplies for her Craft Room. She loves to Craft more than anything I think. I’m pretty sure between my Daughter-in-law who’s very crafty and myself it was a given Little Miss Kayla would be Craft too!

Kayla's Card and sketch 136 004

I think she’s done a remarkable job with this card. She’s got a great color sense and is leaning towards simple is beautiful! Way to go Kayla!!! This was our Thanks You card for all of her goodies. I hope you enjoy it as much as we have.

By the way she just turned 10!!! Love you Kayla!!!

Stamping 411 Sketch Challenge

Good Morning Everyone and welcome to another Sketch Challenge from Stamping 411

I hope you will take the time to hop on over there and see the work of the other talented “Operators”…it’s a very fun place to be!!! Maybe even play along.

Her is my interpretation of the sketch:Stamping 411 Sketch 135 002 ssc135 Sketch 135

I’m showcasing some of our delightful Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper on the left side of the card…it is cut to 1 3/4 x 5 1/4 I then mounted it on a piece of Pumpkin Pie to tie it together. That piece is cut at a 1 7/8 x 5 1/4

I then wanted to use so saffron to really tie it together so did a mat cut at 4 x 5 1/4 and put the pumpkin piece on top. It looked a bit bland to me so I looked around my really messy work area and got out my template from my Mat pack and used the Circles as a template and made white circles with my Signo Gel Pen. Instant Designer Paper of my own!!

I then did my image with our Level 2 Hostess set in the New Occasions Mini and stamped in Basic Brown and colored with my Aqua Painter and Watercolor Wonder Crayons.  The image piece is cut at 2 1/8 x 2 3/8 and mounted on Pumpkin Pie cut at 2 1/4 x 2 1/2. I then had a strip I had been playing with using our new Pinking Hearts Border Punch and so not to waste I pieced it together around the edges of Pumpkin.

I almost forget the base of the card is white cut at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2

The final touch is a bow done with our new Satin Ribbon in white held together with a Rhinestone Brad.

I hope you enjoyed my share today and hope to see you back soon.

Help for Haiti

As I’ve said before Stampin’ Up! is a fabulous company to work for and one that I am proud to be a part of. They are for sure a company with  a “Heart”!

Here is a bit of what they are doing to help the people of Haiti…..

group su haiti

They invited  employees to help assemble the kits over the next few days, and apparently the response was so enthusiastic that they got all the kits assembled in one day!

dale

It’s only fitting that one of these pictures shows our own Stampin’ Up! president Dale Fillmore, because the idea for the kits was his. Like so many of our Stampin’ Up! employees, demonstrators, and customers, he was looking for a way to help that would truly be beneficial.

Would you like to help as well? It’s easy…..

From now until February 28, 2010, $2 from every I {Heart} Hearts stamp set you sell will be donated to the American Red Cross' Haiti Relief and Development Fund. The Red Cross is already well-established in Haiti, and this money will be used to provide immediate relief and long-term support through supplies, technical assistance and other support to help those in need.

Big Shots

Hi Everyone,

I had a great group of first time ladies today to use the Big Shot. Two of them are quilters and really enjoyed seeing the ease of cutting fabric with our Big Shot Dies.

They each got to make a Fabric Pin which they are wearing. Also the quilters brought lots of scraps to choose from so they were able to pick they’re favorite colors.

Here is my happy little group of Stamper/Quilters sporting they’re new pins.

Karen's Party 007

Don’t forget the Big Shot is not just for paper crafting anymore. It can cut through up to eight layers of fabric with the turn of a handle. How cool is that.

If you would like more info on the Big Shot just give me shout. I’d be happy to tell you all about it.

Always……………

Good Morning Everyone,

I’d like to share a card we’ll be doing at my camp this weekend. It’s a sweet Valentine done with Stampin’ Up!s Always Set. This set has always been a favorite of mime, I think I’ve used it for the last 3-4 years for Valentines Day. It’s got several other stamps in it as well that are very versatile.

You can check out this set and many, many others at my online store here.

I matched it up with some of our Razzle Dazzle Designer Series Paper and Chocolate Chip Card Stock and Ribbon. I also used out new border punch that you can earn free during Sale-a-Bration!!

Always Stamp Camp CArd

My inspiration for this card came from Sarah Gough over at thinkingstamps.blogspot.com

I guess that’s it for today…..have a wonderful week and as always…..

Sweet Pea & Stamping 411 Challenge

Good Morning Everyone!

It’s Time for another sketch Challenge from Stamping 411

I hope you’ll visit us over there and play along if you can.

Here is today’s sketch:

ssc134

….and my interpretation:

Stamping 411 Sketch 1-15 007

Oh, I’m so excited about this great Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper and Stamp Set from the new Sale-a-Bration Brochure. Isn’t it darling? The Stamp Set is Happy Moments.

Anyway I cut the Designer Series Paper to 4x 5 1/4” and cut in half from point to point on the diagonal. You can do this by placing the pints in your cutter grid (the points, that is). then I cut my Pretty in Pink to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 “ and did the same thing. Now instead of me layering it with the old Olive I wanted….I used my Stampin’ Up! marker and just used the cardstock that was already down and just drew a line of old olive. Kind of like a faux layer if you will.

Next I made the layers for the image piece. The Pretty in Pink Layer is: 2 1/2” x 3 1/8”….Old Olive Mat is: 2 3/8 x 2 1/8” and the white image piece is 2 x 2 1/4”.

I stamped the image twice and colored and cut one of the cakes and popped it up with dimensionals.

You’re probably wondering where I got the white background piece with the pink dots. Well I made it. I punched out a bunch of 1/4” dots and used a bit of my Tombo Multi Adhesive and stuck them on randomly (or maybe not so randomly, I always have a pattern). I then punched a scrap of card stock with my 1/2” circle punch and held it over the little pink dots to use as a template to make a circle of tiny little dots around the pink dots. Can you see it?

I’ve added some Dazzling Diamonds to the pink dots and also the center of the flowers to give it a bit of bling.

My final step was to add a little ribbon…so I grabbed our new pink satin ribbon. Oh my word…it’s to die for. I taped it across the bottom and pleated a bit and added some of those cute “Stitched Felt” Sweet Pea flowers.

I guess that’s it for today. I hope you enjoyed your visit and I hope to see you over at Stamping 411.

Good Morning Everyone, Here is my last swap card from Leadership.

This one is done on Very Vanilla Paper and showcases our new little Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslit from the Occasions Mini Catalog. I just love this little heart.

Leadership and shower 001

I also used just a tiny strip of our new Sending love Specialty Paper that is to die for. It’s already got the sparkle on there. What more could a girl ask for?

Notice the left edge of the pink has our new Pinking Hearts Border and I also added the Final Press Embossing Folder to give a little texture.

The sentiment is from our new set call Well Scripted. Don’t you love the font? Oh lete not forget the new Pink Satin Ribbon…Gorgeous and so easy to work with. I hope you enjoyed my little share for the day.

Here are a few more pictures from Leadership……..

This is Julie and Midge….Julie on the left and Midge on the right. They are actually Mother and Daughter. I so love these two awesome ladies. I’ve been friends with them for a few years now and communicate often with them online. Midge is over 80 years young and still Demonstrating and runs circles around me and everyone else. She is a little dynamo!!!

Leadership and shower 304

Gardening Anyone?and Leadership Photos

Hi Everyone,

It’s been a busy day here. I thought I’d get this post out before now. I’ve had 2 1/2 classes here today and have been slammed.

Here is a little share I have for you. It’s a card I did for one of my swaps for Leadership. It uses one of the stamps from our “Garden from the Heart” Set. I think it’s pretty cute. I used Kraft Card Stock for the base and then popped up the Old Olive after adhering some Whisper White behind to pop the gloves up on. I hope you like it.

Leadership and shower 003

I would like to share a few of my highlights with you of the Managers Reception at Leadership Conference last week in Phoenix.

Here I am with Shelli Garner at our Managers Reception. She is just the best…..no kidding. I was telling her about how great it was and she wanted to know what I liked and why. Cool, huh?

Leadership and shower 272

I was thrilled to sit with Bonnie Thurber on the bus on the way over to the Reception. Guess what I did? She asked if she could be my new best friend for the ride over and I moved over onto the other seat where my Sprite (soda) was sitting. You got it….I sat on it and it soaked the whole back of my jeans. We had to move to other seats as it was soaked. It really was funny. She called me “Sprite Butt” for the rest of the night. hehe

We had a great time just chit chatting about everything, she is so nice to talk to. I just love her. Bonnie does some of the training films for Stampin’ Up! Hey Bonnie!!!

Leadership and shower 268

Here are the wonderful girls I sat with at Dinner. Some of them are old friends and some new. Top row…..we have me. Evie, Dawn Rapas (#1 Stampin’ Up! Demo) and my dear friend Sheilah. The girls on the bottom row are so sweet but I’m afraid I’ll get their names mixed up. So I won’t even try. Hey Girls!!!! Isn’t the table just beautiful?? Everything was so colorful. Stampin’ Up! sure knows how to do things up right.

Leadership and shower 288

Heres my friend Lis Lyung from California. She sat at the table next to us. I love Lis, she is an awesome card maker. We always make sire to save each other a swap or two. I don’t know if you can tell but we both have those shawls on that Stampin’ Up! gave us. Mine is orange hers is pink. Pretty, huh?

Leadership and shower 287

I guess that’s it for today……come back again.

Over the Top Swap Card and more Leadership

Good Morning Everyone!

Here is another swap I did for Leadership conference.

This one was done with our new little Polka Dot Heart Embosslet and Polka Dot Embossing Folder.

Swap Cards for Leadership 002

Isn’t it sweet? I wanted this to be simple and sweet. I also wanted to put Vellum on this card but we don’t sell colored Vellum…so I made Pink Vellum.

So easy….all you do it take on of our Stampin’ Up! sponges and rub it over your ink pad then in a circular motion rub it onto one side of the vellum paper. By doing the circular motion you wil not get streaks in it and it does smooth our beautifully.

The little Embosslet Heart is new in our Occasions Mini Catalog and just adorable and so easy to use with your Big Shot. All you do is run it through and it pops it right out. So easy and fun. I actually did the heart in white and then another mounted on top of it in the tinted Vellum. I glued them together with a little Tombo Multi glue.

This was one of my Over the Top Swaps for convention. I hope everyone liked it. It’s very soft and pretty.

now……here’s a bit more on the Leadership scene. It was so fun!!!!

Leadership and shower 249 Here I am with my partners in crime over at Stamping 411 Group. Connie where in the world were you. You were there on minute and gone the next.

Leadership and shower 098 Here is my good friend Sheilah in from of Memento Mall.

Leadership and shower 100 …and now me. Then we went and did some power shopping. Yikes!!!! What fun fabulous things they had in there.

Leadership and shower 135 Here’s my downline and friend Sharon Field. She was one of the winners with her gorgeous card for Barbara Jackson’s Over the Top Swap. Way to go!!!

I guess that’s it for today…..come back tomorrow for some pics from Managers Reception.

Southwestern Medallion

Good Morning Everyone!

I’m actually in Phoenix for Stampin’ Up! Leadership Conference. I didn’t want to miss the Stamping 411 challenge, so I posted this early. So here we go…….

Here is the Sketch:

I haven’t used this Stamp a lot and not sure why….I think I’ve just been buried in Christmas for months now!!! So anyhow I thought I’d pull it out and see what I could do with it.

I spotted a necklace I liked last night at a Vendor Fair that inspired me to do these colors. …and my interpretation….. Kind of Turquoise and Coral, don’t you think?

Sketch 133

I used our Soft Suede for the base of the card and ran it through the Big Shot using the Finial Press Embossing Folder. It’s stunning in person. I then matted it with Bermuda Bay and Dusty Durango. So pretty together.

I stamped the Medallion Stamp twice….once in Bermuda Bay and once in Soft Suede. I then cut the circle part out of the Soft Suede and attached it to the Bermuda Bay Medallion with Dimensional’s. I then took my In Color Markers and colored in the design and added a fire rhinestone brad.

The Dimensions for the mats are:

Dusty Durango Strip 1 1/8 x 5 1/2” and the mat is 3 5/8 x 3 7/8

Bermuda Bay 3 1/2 x 4”

White Image piece is 3 3/8x 3 3/4”

I used scraps for the sentiment.

Hope you enjoyed your visit. Come back and see me!

…and as always …/

Sparkly and Bright

Happy New Year!!!!  I wish all of you a wonderful New Year full of Love, Health and much Happiness. A little prosperity wouldn’t hurt either right. Hopefully 2010 will be a better and brighter year for everyone!!!

When I did this sketch I didn’t even realize it would post after Christmas, so forgive me for that. It’s still cute as the Dickens, right? Here is the sketch:

ssc132 (2)

…and my interpretation:Sketch 132

It’s a simple card using my square punches….1 1/4” and 1 3/8 “. Did you know they fit exactly perfect going down the card the 5 1/2 “ way? They do. I did some faux zig zag stitching with my mat pack and my red marker and I was in business. I stamped the sentiment with Real Red.

Hope to see you back soon and …………
