Cold and Cuddly

Good Morning Everyone!!! Time for another Sketch Challenge from Stamping 411

Here is the Sketch and I hope you will play along…you never know when there will be a prize.

ssc114

….and here is my interpretation of it:

Cold And Cuddly_thumb[15]

I’ve used the Cold and Cuddly set from Stampin’ Up!

The base of the card or foldover is 5 1/2” x8 1/2”

The White mat has been run through the Big Shot with our new embossing folder called “Petals-a-Plenty”. I love this Embossing folder. Byt the way the white mat is cut to 4” x 5 1/4”

The next mat is the Bashful Blue mat and is cut to 3 1/8” x 3 5/8” and the image white piece is 3” x 3 1/2”.

The bottom three pieces are cut to 4” wide and torn…then sponged and layered to look like drifts of snow.

I used Bashful Blue Ink to match and of course what winter scene could do with out our Dazzling Diamonds…….very sparkly on the drifts of snow, ice and below the ice. I’ve popped up the cute little penguin by cutting him out and using a dimensional. I actually stamped the penguin in Basic Gray and removed the gray from the heart with a Blender Pen and then took my Red Marker and painted it red…huffed on it and stamped to get the two colors. That’s it….hope you enjoyed it. This card was actually a sneak peak at my Christmas Camp…everyone loved it.

So if you’re in the Jacksonville, Florida area and would like to stamp…..just let me know. I’d love for you to come to my next event.

Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you back real soon.

Crimped “Over the Top” Autumn Days Tutorial

Good Morning Everyone!

I finally had a few minutes to do a tutorial on this card. This card features “Autumn Days” from Stampin’ Up! I’ve had so many requests to share this so I hope you enjoy it.

AutumnDaysOvertheTopSwap006_thumb12

  • First you need a piece of card stock measuring 4’ x 5 1/4”…you will need to have this piece marked on the center edge of all sides as seen below. The center is 2” on the short sides and 2 5/8” on the long sides. Mark with pencil so you can erase

Crimped Technique 001

Then you want to score from a long side to a short side as seen here marked by a broken line (dashes).

Crimped Technique 002

and score….

Crimped Technique 003

Once you have scored it you will need to fold it in….like this;

Crimped Technique 004

then you will place it folded into your crimper……as shown below

Crimped Technique 005

try and keep it folded

Crimped Technique 007

Run it though the crimper and don’t despair when it hasn’t totally crimped in the center. Simply open and crimp again from both sides to the center to get full crimped coverage.Crimped Technique 008

like this….

Crimped Technique 009

do this from both sides to fill in the center and you’re done!!!! Now that wasn’t hard was it?

Now to get the cute little diamond shapes for the inside of the center…I crimped another piece and cut the center out (large diamond) and cut it down to where I wanted it. Make sure to cut equally on all sides to make your templates and then trace to cardstock. That’s it!!!

I hope you enjoy my little attempt at my tutorial and I hope you’ll share what you’ve made with me using this technique.

If you email me your creations I will post them here for everyone to see.

email me at leeconrey@bellsouth.net …..now I can’t wait to see what you’ve all come up with.

I’m stamping in Jacksonville, Florida for anyone that’s interested in attending Stamping Events.

One of a Kind

Good Morning Everyone!!! It’s Saturday and you know what that means!! It’s time for another Sketch Challenge from Stamping 411. I hope you’ll hop on over and play along.

Every week all of the Operators come up with our interpretation of the sketch….it’s amazing to see what everyone has done with it and of course it's wonderful to see what all of you do too! One little sketch so may possibilities!!

Here is the sketch:

ssc113 and here is my interpretation.

One of a Kind 010

I was just itching to do a card with the “Night and Day” Designer Series Paper and really showcase it. I then went through my catalog to see what stamps I had to sort of match it….when BINGO I came across the “One of a Kind” Stamp Set. I haven’t used it in quite awhile but the flower to me resembled the pattern on the paper. So there you go!! I paired it with White and Black Cardstock with just a touch of pink. I used my watercolor pencils and colored in the flower with a little help from my Aqua Painter, added a cute little pink button tied with linen thread and there you go. Easy Peasy!!!

The dimensions for the card are:

White Fold over 5 1/2”x8 1/2”…DSP 3”x4”….Black 2 1/2” x 4”….Pink strip 1” x 4”.  The mats for the image are Pink 2 1/2” x 3 1/2”…Black 2- 3/8” x 3 3/8”…..White image piece 2 1/4” x 3 1/4”.

I hope you enjoy today's Challenge and join in the fun.

Thanks for visiting and come back soon….

In the mean time have a …….

Berry Merry

Good Morning Everyone,

I will be having a Christmas Card Camp this weekend in Jacksonville Florida. We will be making five Christmas Cards and this is one of them.

This one showcases the Berry Merry Stamp Set from Stampin’ Up!

I think this wreath is kind of Retro and Chic but decided to keep the colors traditional. I hope you like it.

Berry Christmas_thumb[13]

I texturized the sides of the gate fold with a Texturz Plate and then attached the front just taping on one side of the matted piece. The wreath stamp I stamped in Handsome Hunter and added some red berries with my Stampin’ Write Marker. Quick and Easy Card to make and very duplicatable if you need to make lots of Christmas Cards.

I hope you’ll visit my Stampin’ Up! website if you need any of the supplies for this card. I offer 24/7 shopping for your convenience. It’s www.stampingleeyours.stampinup.net

Special Anniversary Card

Good Morning Everyone,

I’d like to share with you a card I made for my Sweet Husband who I adore!

I wanted to make a special card for him and just couldn’t find a set that said what I wanted….until……

I stumbled upon my Tres Chic Background Stamp that Says it all! So I decided to work around that. Along with that I used the “Together Forever” Set as well.

I’m going to show you the outside and the inside and will write in in after.

Just a few of the words that describe my Husband and our Marriage:

Together….Love….Adore…Believe….Friendship….Memories…..Family….Happiness….Inspiration

Those (and more) are on that Background Stamp…..it truly speaks volumes and that’s what I needed to say “Happy Anniversary to my Husband Darrell!!! We’ve been married 40 years today!!!! It just doesn’t seem possible. I think I’ll keep him around, at least for awhile….wink!

Anniversary Card 2 001

By the way….I used Basic Black, Very Vanilla and used a bit of Vellum for an overlay to soften the words…I wanted “Love” to stand out!

I added some of the words to the inside as seen below:

Anniversary Card 002

Well that’s it for today…..the rest of the day belongs to “You Know Who”!!!

I hope you all have a Stampinglee Good Day! I know I will!!!!

Stamping 411 Sketch Challenge

Good Morning Everyone!

Here’s something I don’t do often and that’s make a card with little stamping on it. I had my Holiday Lounge Designer Series Paper out and this is what I came up with. I feel badly that the glitter doesn’t show in the photo in the Sahara Sand Ornaments. It was difficult to photograph. I think you get the picture though, right? How RETRO is this??? I think my Brother or Dad had a Shirt of Pajamas like this! Ha!

Sketch 112 Holiday Lounge DSP

For this card I started with a card base in Ruby Red that was cut to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2”

I think cut a piece of Sahara Sand that is 2 3/8” x 5 i/2” and cut the DSP to 2 1/4” x 5 1/2” and mounted that on the Sahara Sand. I then layered a Sahara Sand for the base 2 3/4” x 3 1/4” and the Ruby Red to 2 5/8” x 3 1/8” and the white to 2 1/2” x 3 “. I crimped all three pieces & stacked it on top of the DSP with Dimensionals. I then proceeded to cut out a few ornaments and this is what I got. A little silver corking for hangers and the Many Merry Messages Set and here you go. The only thing I stamped was the Merry Christmas Saying and I cut that in half and mounted on the card.

Here is the Stamping 411 sketch if you’d like to play along. We’d love to have you!

I showcases the Hostess Set    “The More the Merrier” which I think is just adorable and covers every season…..how awesome is that?

I guess I’ll find my own inspiration when I find my energy…..seems like I lost it!!! Maybe I lost it at convention, ya think??? The More the Merrier 001

Stamping 411 Sketch Challenge

Good Moring Everyone,

I am at convention and having a really great time. Boy am I going to crash and burn when I get home.  I can’t miss any of this fun though, right?

This is the new sketch challenge from Stamping 411:

ssc111

….and here is my interpretation……….

ssc111 Dasher

For this simple contemporary card I used the Dasher Stamp that is in the $10 and under page of our catalog.

I used some of the new “Holiday Lounge” DSP for the bottom of the card and cut that at 1 1/4” x 5 1/2” and matted that with a piece of Whisper White that was cut to fit the width and just peeks out on top of the DSP.

My image piece is cut to 2 1/2” x 2 3/4” and I stamped with Versamark and heat Embossed with White Embossing Powder. I added a few dots in the corners with my white gel pen. I then matted that onto a piece of Whisper White Cardstock and adhere it with dimensionals.

The saying is from another set called Christmas Classics and I embossed that in white as well.

I hope you enjoyed our little visit today and hope to see you back soon. If I can help you with any of your stamping needs don’t hesitate to contact me. You can also order on line at www.stampingleeyours.stampinup.net

Now go on over to Stamping 411 and play along if you’d like, if not check out all the art work of the other Operators and guest stampers.

In the meantime….

My Special Flower Box Swap

Good Morning Everyone,

While I’m at convention I thought I would share another one of my swaps with you. This was for a very special CD Swap where the Hostess gets the Genuine Article and prior to convention we send her pictures and Directions for the project. She then compiles it all onto a CD!! Great Idea, don’t you think? So I’m hoping everyone loves the box I made and that I’ll learn oodles of new things from the swappers.

So here is mine……hope you like it.

Flower_Box_002_thumb[24]

The box itself was made with So Saffron DSP and I made the leaves with my oval punches…..and texturized them with my stylus. The flower is made with the Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Series Paper…..it really made a pretty flower, didn’t it? Here’s another view:

Flower_Box_003_thumb[12]

I gie3ss that’s it for now……I’ll catch you all up when I get home…..well maybe not right away. hehe

Don’t forget my On line ordering Special while I’m away…..I’ll send you a $10 Gift Certificate if you place a $50 order on line here while I’m gone. Happy shopping!!!…..and as always….

Convention Bound

Hi Everyone,

I am on my way to Salt Lake City for the Stampin’ Up! Convention. I can hardly wait. I’ll be traveling with my very talented downline Sharon Field. I’m sure we’ll have a good time.

Tonight we have two…you heard me right two events to go to. So after we arrive at 2Pm we need to head on over to the Hotel and check in…go to the Convention Center and check in and……..go to an event with Margaret Goodfellow my fifth level upline. I can’t wait to meet my extended family of sister Demo’s!!! We’ll be there for about two hours and then head on over to Barbara Jackson’s Over the Top Swap…..so I’d like to share with you my “Over the Top” Swap I did for Barbara’s event. I had to make 50 of these and let me just say, if it wasn’t for a couple of my dear friends it wouldn’t have happened. Thanks Lisa and Rose Ann!!!

Here it is………………drumroll please………………………….

Autumn Days Over the Top Swap 006

Isn’t it beautiful? I just love it’s simple elegance. When I get back I will do a tutorial on it. If you’d like.

The base is Very Vanilla as it the crimped layer. I used our exquisite Soft Suede and dyed some of our taffeta ribbon to match. Cut out the pinecones and used an over abundance of dimensionals……but that’s alright, these Girls are so worth it.!!!! Now I cant wait to see what Barbara has in store for us.

This will be one of the cards I will teach at a Technique class when I return. So if you’re in the are….I’d love to have you.

I hope you enjoyed my card today and hope you’ll visit often.

So what do you think? Is it over the top????? I’d love to hear comments on this one.

…as always ……………….

Check back for Convention Specials tomorrow!!!!!

Christmas Classics

Good Morning Everyone,

Here is a little card I did this morning with the “Christmas Classics” set from Stampin’ Up!

I will be doing this card at a workshop for Lina and Kathy at the end of the month. They want to concentrate on Christmas. I had the pleasure of meeting them at Darlene’s workshop over the weekend and they wanted to book they’re own party…..can’t wait, they are all GREAT Gals!

Christmas Classics 003

The Base of the Card is Real Red, followed by Old Olive and Whisper White. I stamped the tree image three times and then another on a scrap of white and cut out. I then popped that tree up with dimensionals. The Merry Christmas saying is from Many Merry Messages and I think is just right for this simple card. I then topped it off with some Real Red 1/4” Grosgrain Ribbon and of course some of our Dazzling Diamonds. Gotta start the day with Diamonds, don’t you agree?

Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you here again real soon. Don’t forget to come back and check out my specials while I’m away at convention!!!

Stamping 411 Animal Stories

Good Morning Everyone!

Time for another Sketch Challenge from Stamping 411

I decided to use the Animal Stories set for this challenge. I actually was going to use the other gorgeous side of this Designer Series paper and turned it over to tape it and saw that I had some pretty cool scenery going on….so I built on that. The DSP is called Tall Tales from Stampin’ Up!

Now here is my interpretation:

ssc110 Animal Stories

The base of the cardstock is So Saffron and is cut to 5 1/2” x 8 1/2 “ and folded in half. I ran it through the Big Shot with a Texturz plate to of course give some texture.

I then used the large Scallop Bigz Die to cut the Designer Paper and my Circle Scissors to mat it onto some Old Olive Cardstock. I set the Circle Scissors at 4 3/4” and cut.

I stamped the Giraffe with So Saffron and kissed it with the stamps from Circle Circus (Thanks Tammy for brining back this favorite technique) in Close to Cocoa. By kissing I mean you stamp the main image and then before you stamp it to paper add a design by inking up another stamp with a different color and stamping directly to the rubber…then huff (heavy breathing here) and stamp! I did a little Faux Stitching added a bit of ribbon and finished it off with a cute little button. Ta Da!!!!

I hope you enjoyed my sketch card this week and will play along over at http://www.stamping411.blogspot.com/ I’d love to see you there.
