I have to say I love this new Pink Pirouette Cardstock from Stampin' Up!....how soft looking is this? Pink is one of my favorite colors and especially this soft, soft pink.

This is a card I did for my Upline's swap at convention. I had to do 20 of these to swap out with the ladies from the STARZ group. I hope then like it. As you can see I used Dreams du Jour and set it in a double dry embossed area. i then stamped the saying and scalloped the edge with our new Scallop punch...lovin' that little punch. This punch and this paper will be available to order on August 11th. you won't want to miss out on these products.

Tie The Knot Card Holder

Hi Everyone,
I'm still at convention, but wanted to share a Card Holder I just did at my "Card Holder" Class.
My customers ordered a Simply Scrappin' Kit to make one of these. The kits are too fabulous and easy to work with. I've only attached the two photos of mime but each pages is different using components of the kit. I used my Bind-it-all to bind the books and made perpetual calendars to add names of people to remember for Birthdays, Anniversaries or what ever.
Each page has a pocket to hold the cards needed for the month. I used the "Tie the Knot " kit for mine.
I first saw this idea over at patty Bennetts site here, she is a awesome lady with a ton of talent.

Always Designer Vases

I've come up with another "Vase" card. I was just playing with the "Designer Label" punch and here is what I cam up with. I can't wait to see what flowers are in the New Catalog to see what other "Vase" cards I can do.

I just cut the top and bottom off the punched piece, you can even vary it a bit if you want and cut off a little more. Then I shaded on the left side of each vase. Masked off an area around at the bottom of the white piece and swirled on some Going Gray with sponge dauber.....removed the mask and placed the vases. I used the sprig from the "Always " set.

Card stock used was Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, More Mustard and Very Vanilla.

On another note, I'll be leaving for convention on Tuesday morning.....so I won't be posting much. I've got a few things scheduled to post but times running out and I've got to get ready.

So I'll catch up when I return and hope to share some wonderful new things with you.

Baroque Motif/Touch of nature

Elegant Blossoms

Hi Everyone!
This is another set from Stampin' Up! that I will miss. This is a two-step Stampin Set....which means you stamp the lighter image first and then the bolder stamp over it in a dark color.
This kind of reminds me of my Grandmother's Lilac Bushes in the front of her house.....I can still remember the beautiful fragrance.
Anyway, I used Old Olive as the back of the mat on Elegant Eggplant and then cut an oval from another piece of Elegant Eggplant and stamped that with the Sanded Background Stamp to give it texture. The image sits behind the oval and is mounted to the mat with several dimensionals.
I used Lovely Lilac and Elegant Eggplant Ink Pads for the flowers and Certainly Celery and Old Olive for the leave.
I hope you enjoy it and take a second or third look at this set before it's too late.

Butterfly Bag/ Box

Hi Everyone!

I cannot take credit for this lovely Bag/Box. My customers did this at my Mini Camp last Saturday and Karen Barnett came up with the Butterfly for hers. We did a Butterfly card and she decided to add one to her bag. I didn't think this little bag could be Elegant, but she managed to accomplish that with the softness of the color and the Vellum Butterfly. Great job Karen.

Faux Silk Asian Style

Good Morning Everyone!

I'd like to share a card I did for a Technique Class of mine. It was done with our Retiring "Artfully Asian Set". I love this set and have used it so many times in the past. I'm sure going to miss it.

The Technique is called "Faux Silk" and you achieve this by stampin on Tissue Paper, coloring in and then you crumple it up. You then un-crumple (don't smooth it out too much) and adhere it to a piece of cardstock using our Mono Multi Glue. Tap it down with your fingers and let dry. There should be wrinkles and creases in it to resemble silk. I also used the "Elegant Cheer" set for the saying. I did pop up the matted panel with dimensionals for some depth. I hope you enjoy it.

Ribbon Weaving

Good Morning Everyone,

I'm happy to say I got a new Air Conditioner yesterday. It feels so good to be cool again.

My card for today is done with our new Stamp Set "Dreams du Jour". I was just playing and decided to try a little Ribbon Weaving" as it's something I had not incorporated into a card before. I had some scraps left from my camp last Saturday and this is what I did with them.

Sock Monkey at Home

OMG!!!! I think I'm losing it! My air conditioner broke over the weekend and I'm still waiting for a new one! So in this 100 degree + weather I've been catching up with things that don't take a lot of energy.

I woke early this morning with this card on my mind....it was not quite this elaborate but the idea was there. I think its funnier than all get out and so not me!!! That's why I think the heat is getting to me, I'm totally giddy and punchy! I should be doing things like preparing fr my party tomorrow night but instead I'm decorating Sock Monkey's House!! Notice the Faux Painted Walls?

Serene Spring Hostess Set

Hi Everyone!

This is one of our new Hostess Sets that will appear in the new Fall and Winter Catalog coming soon. I've been so busy I haven't had much time to play with these. So I thought I would give this a try.

I stamped the canvas background stamp on Riding Hood Red cardstock with the same color just to give it a bit of texture. I then stamped the words randomly onto the background in Brown Timber Stazon, the words read; "A kind word is like a spring day". The image was stamped with Brown Stazon as well. I used Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette, Kiwi Kiss and Baja Breeze re-inkers to color with, along with my aqua painter. I used a Pure Color blue pencil on the butterfly and I did the pot with Pure Color Pencils and Odorless Mineral Spirits applied with blending stumps.

I really just wanted to see all the colors and play with them....aren't they pretty? I think I'll go back and work a bit more on my blending.

Dreams du Jour

Hi Everyone,
Finally I got to play with one of my new stamps sets and scallop punch from Stampin' UP!
This set is called "Dreams du Jour" and is very easy to work with. Even the smallest of image can create something simple and lovely.
I used Whisper White Cardsotck, Certainly Celery for the punched square and Black and Pink Pirouette. I colored in the image with an Aqua Painter and some Pink Pirouette Ink Refill. The leaves are done in Kiwi Kiss....another new color from Stampin' Up!. I did dry emboss a square in the center of the scalloped design in which the Love stamped image sits.
To achieve the punched square you take a 2 3/4 square piece of cardstock and with the new Scallop Punch center the cardstock on the ruler under the punch...do this on all four sides...that's it!
I enjoyed making this card and I hope you enjoy viewing it.

Retro Chic'

I saw this card done by "bugstersmom" on SCS and had to do one for myself. It's so Retro looking and just fun. The only thing I did differently was add the little "Hello" from Amazing to Zany by Stampin' Up!

Here are a few little Gift Card Holders I made today. I got the idea from my downline Susan Best....the little skunk card was hers from our latest downline meeting swap. I just love that little skunk! The set is Pun Fun by Stampin' Up! I used some Odorless Mineral Spirits on the Hippo along with some blending stumps to distribute the color. I added the color with Stampin' Up! Pure Color Pencils. I hope you like it.

Lovely Letters Note Cards

Hi Everyone!
I have a workshop next Wednesday. My Hostess sends lots of cards and notes, so I thought I would do a simple notecard. I did some dry embossing for the background with my scoring blade and dabbed a bit of 2-way on each cross section and sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds.
I first saw this technique when my Downline Sharon Field demonstrated it at my Downline Meeting. You may want to visit her blog here. She loves to share and has lots of wonderful ideas there.
I used Whisper White and Brocade Blue Cardstock and finished it off with some Brocade Blue grosgrain ribbon. I'm pleased with the elegant simplicity of this notecard. It's very pretty in real life (the color did not photograph well).

Circle of Friendship and Family

Hi Everyone!

Well my Grandkids left yesterday.....we had a BLAST!!!!! We all decided to do NOTHING but play in the pool, play badminton and just plain have fun. I think we accomplished that. Oh can't forget the eating part!!! I think we made 4 batches of brownies and one cake. Our little Princess is a "Brownie Snatcher"!

Chase got really hooked on Badminton and won several times. He certainly gave me a run for my money!

I just wanted to share a few poolside pictures of them and also a card I made as my last project for my Mini Camp this weekend.

Pun Fun in Pink and White

Well my family arrived today and we've been playing and catching up.

This is a card I did for my Daughter-in-Law. I actually made her a set from the "Pun Fun" Set by Stampin' Up!....she absolutely adored them.

This was my first attempt at doing the Gamsol Technique and I just love this method of coloring. It's just so soft and pretty.

Lemonade or Margarita's

Hi Everyone!

I'm sharing two cards that I did for my June workshops...that everyone just loved. I gave them the option of doing either the yellow or the green card. It was fun to see them mix it up and use the different umbrellas. By the way the slice on the glass is scratch and sniff. I hope you enjoy them.

Beach Bag

Hi Everyone,

I hope you enjoy the really cool little Beach Bag I've posted today.

It's actually called a Box/Bag. I first saw this Box/Bag here at Inking Addict, Paula Goff is one talented lady . You will find the directions there too.

What a cute little creation this is and so easy. I decided to make it a Beach Bag with our Guava Cardstock and Guava Designer paper. I of course had to use out stitched Guava Ribbon as well. We know how monochromatic I am, don't we? I stamped the pair of flip flops from Stampin' Up!s Life a Breeze Stamp set and added a little Bling (a girl's gotta have bling).

I'll be doing this little Bag/Box along with a few other things at my Mini Camp on Friday July 18th and Saturday July 19th if you're interested.

Fabulous Flowers

Hi Everyone! I hope you all had a great Holiday weekend.

I spent a little time stamping....

I wanted to do a card using the "Rock and Roll" technique but just couldn't get it...I finally used my markers to achieve this look. I markered the flower with Blush Blossom and outlined it with a Regal Rose Marker....huffed and stamped. Simple but kind of sweet looking.

I enjoy clean fresh lines in cards and it seems like I always have to add a touch of black....just seems to bring it all together for me. I hope you like it.

1. I am so addicted to this craft of stamping….it’s just nuts….but I know you all understand that!
2. I love any kind of Pickles…
3. I have changed my hair color so many times in the last several months it’s always a riot to see my husbands face when he comes home
4. The night my husband I got engaged we were physically assaulted by some members of the Mafia……scary! Long story!!!!!!!!
5. I easily fall back into my Bostonian accent if I talk with my Brother or cousins back home.
6. I was on the very first Girls Ice Hockey Team in the United States. We had two teams and played exhibition games in the Northeast. I was a Right Wing and assisted in one goal…..I also spent a good deal of time in the Penalty Box!!!
7. I went to Porsche Race Car Driving School and was taught by Brian Redmond in Savannah Georgia.

Birthday Bling!

Hi Everyone!
Happy 4th of July to all of you! I hope you are all doing something fun and relaxing. I'm enjoying the day stamping and catching up....my poor hubby had to work today.....so I'm playing.

I decided to finally use the So Much Stamp Set from Stampin' Up!
I actually used it for a template of sorts to mount all the bling I needed for this special card for a dear friends Birthday. She's all about BLING! The center flower is also from the So Much Set. I stamped the flower image twice, once on Blush Blossom and once on Vellum, then added my Rhinestome Brad from the Pretties Kit.
I love, love , love the Elegant Cheer set which I used for the greeting. I was so upset when Stampin' Up! retired Elegant Greetings and was thrilled when they added this set.

I used piece of wide Black Grosgrain ribbon I had left over from a gift (hope Stampin' Up! will add to the wide grosgrain colors) and there you have it.

Artfully Asian Vases

Hi Everyone,

I'm very excited about the response from all of you, Thank You! I still don't feel I have the hang of this new blogging adventure....but here goes.

I actually did this card for my downline swap last month and was so excited to swap this card with my group.

The inspiration for this card was Michelle Zindorf. She however did it with punched flowers.....she is one talented lady.

When I saw these great little vases created with our large oval punches I was floored. I wanted to add real flowers...so I proceeded to hunt for the perfect stamp to create my flowers.

I think the Artfully Asian Stamp was just the right touch.....what I did was use my marker to just color in the areas I needed and masked the little vase and stamped (don't forget to huff). I used the top part of the main image stamp and the center of it as well. It still looked a little skimpy to me so I used my Chocolate Chip marker and added a few flowers and berries of my own and then colored. I think the end result was just what I was thinking.

Hi Everyone,

First I want to thank my Downline Sharon Field for helping (alright doing!) me with my new Blog. I'm learning slowly....

She is really a fabulous Friend, Stamper, and Computer Whiz!!! Because of her I will be able to share more often.

These are the two cards we will be doing for my July Technique Class.

Kind of fun and different techniques and certainly different for me. Michelle Zindorf was the inspiration behind the Lovely as a Tree card. This is not a technique you want to do if you're afraid of geting your hands dirty....maybe I should get some rubber gloves!

The other card is done using the soon to be retired "Artfully Asian"....I just had to make a paper lantern with it. I love how it tuned out.
